Anyone else having issues with Safety Connect and Remote Climate from the App on the Advanced model. My car has been at the dealer for 26 days and I just bought it December 10th - My frustration is very high . I should have waited to get this car until all the 'bugs ' were worked out . Please let me know if you seeing the same issues

I have sporadic connection with the climate control and the battery charge update with the vehicle. Sometimes it connects and sometimes it doesn't. Not sure what causes the interference, but it does connect for the most part. I haven't had it checked out yet. It did take me about a month to get the IT department to fix my problem of the Entune app not accepting my Safety Connect Contract ID. That was frustrating. Hope they get a resolution for you soon!

You've had it at the dealer fixing problems for 26 days?

Didn't accept my safety connect ID for days. Then magically it started working.

Mine is intermittent for "charge management" and "remote climate".

What does "saved destinations" do? It doesn't show me the ones stored in the onboard navigation.

Same for me. Logged on using my laptop first and then it worked on the app. So far no problems (although its only been 30 hours with the car)

I've had a running conversation with tech support at Toyota regarding connection issues with charge management and remote climate. Yesterday, I received a call from Toyota asking me to try to connect. Much to my surprise it worked. He stayed on the line, said he wanted to time how long it took for the climate to come on. (It was about a minute) He said that the code guys have changed something in the server to make the connection more reliable. Seems to work now, and the problem was on the server side, not the app or the car.
And another thing I found out was that Safety Connect works on the Verizon network. At least that's what he told me. So a Verizon coverage map will tell you where your safety connect will work, or won't. I had been wondering. Verizon uses CDMA and sometimes shares towers with Sprint which also uses CDMA. So, there's that.
Still no luck on Lane Keep Assist in a firmware update, though ;(

Sorry if I missed it, but what's the concern with (I gather) the Lane-Departure Steering Assist feature?

**Best I've been able to gather**, some Toyotas used to have a quasi-Tesla-like feature called Lane-Keep Assist that (again, best I can tell) was designed to keep the car centered in the lane, and they replaced it with Lane-Departure Steering Assist, which (again, best I understand it) only makes small steering adjustments for a short time to reduce your intrusion into other lanes.

I gather the "advantage," if it can be called that, of the newer Lane-Departure Steering-Assist feature is that it forces you to keep focused on driving actively, rather than getting distracted on other things, and yet still has a fair chance of keeping you out of trouble if you do let yourself get distracted.

My last car had Lane Keep Assist. A 2010 IV ATP. It was wonderful. It significantly reduced driver fatigue on long, freeway trips. LKA gave you the time to look at the map and plan a strategy. It would come in very handy now with the difficulty of finding the right place on the huge screen to touch for the desired results. By the time Lane Departure Warning does anything in the seconds that it takes to do that, you've already hit the car next to you. Having had LKA, and now not, in my opinion Toyota made a huge mistake removing it and replacing it with something so inferior.

Since I was an early adopter of the Prime (11/13/16), I didn't have a chance to try it out on the freeway. I mistakenly assumed that what they would put in a later vehicle would be an improvement on previous, existing technology. Because newer = better, right? Mistaken assumption I do love the car.... BUT.

Since they went to the trouble to put a large screen in the Advanced, and made the audio and other buttons so small (and the font can't be changed), it's downright dangerous. I feel that Toyota should not have removed an already existing, wonderful technology. I had my previous Prius for 7 years, and really loved Lane Keep Assist. It is beyond me why it was removed.

Yes they still have it, they were waiting for new safety connect module. Took 8 days. They replaced it still not the issue, the dealer will not return the car until the issue is resolved. They are supposedly making my first car payment
