I liked all the storage places in the regular Prius as well. When I cleaned everything out about a month ago, I could not believe everything I had (lots forgot about). Sleeping bag, emergency supplies, tools, etc. Guess it will be time to prioritize things with the Prime. Pack for the local drives/and have a kit ready for out of town drives. As I was unpacking the car I kept thinking about that TV show "Hoarders".

I thought the lack of space in the trunk would bother me more, but now I just don't leave as much useless junk in my car (which maybe helps with my gas mileage?). It is a bummer for the few times that I actually need to haul a bunch of stuff back and forth though.

LKA on my 2010 required 'hands on the wheel'. But with one hand, it remained in effect long enough to actually look at the screen or AC. I think Toyota took a step backwards with this decision.

We have a sienna too. Before this prime, there was an overlap between 07 prius and sienna in terms of haul-bility. Now that lap is closed.

I looked for the CD Player today and couldn't find it.
I went to the Manuals and see the Prime Plus with the smaller display has it, but the 11.6 doesn't have a CD Player.
    WHY???

WHAT WERE THEY THINKING to drop the CD Player from the more expensive Prime.

Now I'm SURE they had Interns design the 11.6 operation.

Toyota thinks the future is dropping the CDplayer. Like the spare tire. I guess I will have to sing like I do in the shower.

CD players, especially CD changers, are pretty unreliable in cars (3 of the 4 I've owned have died while I owned them). And since the audio system isn't really audiophile quality, ripping all your CDs to MP3 and putting them on a tiny USB drive is a far preferable solution. You can have all of your CDs in the car all the time, all accessible from the touch screen, and all on more reliable all solid-state media.

Still, a little sneaky, that one display size has the CD, the other not. Seems mostly "something had to go" design.

oh wow! indeed no CD player at all! I started using usb drives back when I had my volt to put all my music on and so I just plugged them right into the prime and didnt think any thing of it.

That's great for our personal library. Unfortunately, there are plenty of us who get audiobooks from our local library. They are on - wait for it - CDs.

Ripping several CDs into the PC to copy the MP3s onto a thumb drive is a royal pain.

If you're able to get anything from an audio book while driving, I'd argue you aren't paying enough attention to driving.

Toyota isn't the only one to think so.

The same can be said about music and talk radio.

Not music. And most talk radio provides less than zero information so it doesn't require any concentration either.

Been listening to books on tape for 25 years. Philips cassette era.

There are many intersections I come to that I can recall different parts of different stories.

I like Steven King novels, there have been times I've had to pull over shouting "No, No don't open that door"

On my new garmin gps, which takes voice commands, I've had to disable the voice input.
You don't wanta Steven King villains telling your gps where to go. Happened a few times...

So do my parents, and now we are considering it.

Not the talk radio I listen too, and on long trips, music will make me sleepy, even speed metal.
