    Hi guys,

I just wonder where do you guys apply HOV sticker on to your prime? I have received my license plate last Monday and I immediately applied for HOV sticker by mail. I am hoping to get the sticker by mail very soon.

    Thanks in advance!

Do you need the FasTrak Flex tag?

You may need it for the carpool lanes across toll bridges. It use to be that way with the older yellow HOV sticker on my Gen 2.

I read over the FasTrak website carefully. It seems you only need the flex tag when traveling in the I-580 express lanes.

When they send the stickers, they send a map as well.

Is it free to use or apply for FasTrak with green HOV sticker? I am new to the Bay Area. Thank you for mentioned about it.

What the difference from the HOV sticker and the regular one that goes in the tag . I got one of those and I just cut it and put it in the tag outside.

What is a "FasTrak Flex tag"? I know about FastTrak Flex transponders that have a switch on them to specify the number of passengers (I have them). But these are 5"x3"x1" devices that you attach to your windshield with velcro stickers, which don't seem like "tags" to me. Sorry, I am not trying to be pedantic, if it is just a terminology thing. OTOH, there may be something new I don't know about.

The rules defining the interaction between the green/white HOV decals and FastTrak and HOV lanes are inscrutable. They depend on the funding used for the bridge/toll road/HOV lane/whatever. For example, The white decals are honored on the Golden Gate Bridge, but not the green decals. The other toll bridges in the Bay Area are run by a different agency, and have different rules. And the toll roads in Southern California have different rules depending on the funding for that road. Sometimes the HOV decal is equivalent to having multiple passengers, and sometimes it is not, and sometimes it depends on (literally) the time of day. And there is no way to know what rules apply in a particular case without searching through the relevant legal documents; there is no signage that tells you.

I just ordered my FasTrak Flex tag so I am able to use carpool lane that allows green hov sticker. The rules on hov for each toll bridges are quite different and confusing, TBH.

Should put sticker on white paint like this car?
    Or lower on black portion.

Just got my Prime Advanced. Do you have your plates before you apply for the HOV sticker?

No plate needed for CA HOV when dealer applied it. Got sticker first, then license plate in south CA region.

Create an online account. Link the license plate number with the account. This way you don't need the physical transponder in the car. Just drive through.

I just created an account (without a license plate as I'm still waiting on that) and noticed that the transponder has a switch to set the number of people in the car. Once I do receive the plate and update my info on fastraks site, Is this something I can ignore and not attach the transponder in the car?

    Thanks

They require you to affix the transponder to the areas mentioned on the site. On your windshield or dashboard. The CHP will pull you over if they don't see it. Got pulled over once and then showed him I had it mounted high up in the center of the windshield (behind the black dots). He couldn't see it, so that's why he pulled me over. That and my tint...

It must be rare to get pulled over for that. 1/4 of the vehicles in the carpool lanes are there illegally, think of all those vehicles without front license plates, no plates, expired registration, blacked out windows. I see that every day. There's also lots of people that don't have auto insurance.
