A few days ago, Toyota Global uploaded 5 or 6 video clips of the building process of the Gen.IV, so I put all the clips together in iMovie in the best order I could and added some background music before I uploaded it to YouTube. Enjoy!! I find it fascinating!

That was very interesting, thanks. With that music I could almost hear Fred Rogers narrating:LOL:

I notice no red, blue or Thermo-Tect Lime. LOTS AND LOTS of white, a few silver and one lone black.

Very cool! Toyota wrote the book on efficiency (lean management) and it shows in this video. Little to no wasted motion.

Henry Ford would be proud. Although I imagine he's rather that was going on in his own company.

I love process videos like these, I thought it was amusing at when they put on the doors around the 9 min mark the lights come on as its alive.

Yes, spotted that - it could be some sort of confirmation by the computer that all is well. Though I wondered if maybe there was someone on the other side installing or checking something - there were a few times when there seemed to be totally different parts of the car being attended to at the same time.

I couldn't help notice the chaps using a air-wrenches, it seemed that all the bolts he was responsible were the same size, no changing of bits to fit different bolts. That wouldn't have worked with VOLVO - at least in the past. I can't remember if it was my 1973 or 1980 (or maybe even my 1994) - which had a diverse variety of bolt sizes - including a mix of METRIC and IMPERIAL.

Did you notice how fast the line moves? How little time there is between different actions?
And how little use there is of bolts?
The front bumper and the dashboard don't seem to be bolted at all...!

I did see some rear disc brakes, but noticed one with what looked like drum brake?

My guess is the bolts they were attaching under the car were at least partially for the front bumper

I watched a BMW Mini assembly line on TV in UK and that also was very slick.

Third gen at the leading edge of the engine underpanel there are four small (10 mm socket size) bolts. Likely similar function bolts in the video. You can see a lot of the plastic push-in fasteners being installed too, at the underpanels, also in the wheel well linings I think. They go very fast; that's the way it is when you do something so much. Just like tying your shoes, lol.
