I recently purchased and used a Carista OBD2 adapter to modify some of my Prime's behaviors. The garbage truck backup beep is gone and all parking sensor warnings have been adjusted to a lower volume or muted. My prime is no longer a sensory overload machine. The Carista offers a ton of customization options and I was excited to see a "long press on the door sensor to open trunk". Sadly, all it does is opening all doors instead. I will contact Carista to see if they can fix this, as I would love to be able to open the trunk remotely. They also offer an option to disable the Panic button on the remote and I am wondering if it can be remapped to open the hatch. Have you guys had any successes with opening the hatch by means other than pressing the dedicated button on the hatch itself?

Did you see this "long press on the door sensor to open trunk" in the Prime manual, or just in the Carista app?
Unless there is something I don't know about, I don't think this is possible without changing the gas struts. When you manually open the trunk, you still have to lift the lid, it doesn't rise on its own. So even if it were unlatched, it would still just sit there. Possible a bad move if you or something in your pocket inadvertently pushed the button and you drove off and the lid lifted due to air pressure.and the antique (whatever) you just bought is suddenly on the freeway behind you.

And if you're just talking about just unlocking the rear hatch so someone without a key can get something, just push the unlock button twice and it's unlocked.

    Just in case you are curious about customization options available for your Prime... IMG_7768.PNG IMG_7767.PNG IMG_7766.PNG IMG_7765.PNG IMG_7764.PNG IMG_7763.PNG IMG_7762.PNG IMG_7761.PNG IMG_7760.PNG IMG_7759.PNG IMG_7758.PNG IMG_7757.PNG

Good point, but there were a number of scenarios when my hands were full and I wished I could just elbow the hatch open instead of looking for a button to press first.

When I touch my door handle, all locks unlock. I don't remember if I had that changed, but I don't think so. And all it takes is 1 finger behind the door handle to do this. I think the solution to this, with the least downside, is use a shopping cart or bag, so you can have at least one hand free. I wouldn't want the hatch unlatched ever, unless I was lifting it.

Just got mine today and connected to my iPhone and made some changes. Super easy and convenient. Had to activate a free month of subscription in order to make changes. It is too bad that they charge a monthly/annual fee for using the app/device to make changes but it is definitely an awesome device.

I changed the Super Annoying Endless Reverse Beeping to just ONE Beep. Change my Turn Signal Auto Flash from 3 to 5 flashes. Enabled the rolling down windows with a Long Press. Mute the proximity sensor after stopping for 3 seconds, and reduce the sensor volume to 1 as well.

Super happy right now. Thanks Dmitriy for the suggestions!

I am glad it worked for you too. I think that their monthly/annual charges are somewhat elevated. They would be much better off charging $100 for the adaptor and a lifetime service. I also used a free trial to fine-tune my Prime to what I want and I don't plan on messing around with settings on regular basis. My trial is about to run out, so I will tweak a few more things and leave it. If I ever have to change something, I'll just activate a month of service. I just killed the seatbelt chime, not because I don't wear seat belts, but it's one less beep that I have to hear when starting up the car, before buckling up. Also, I wasn't a fan of auto locking/unlocking of all doors, so I killed that as well. Maybe they'll add more useful customizations in the future.

I asked my family members if they have a car that is supported so we can customize their settings before the trial ends. But glad to see Prime is supported with so many settings.

Used my to turn off the continuous back beep today.
Second time I've used the app
First time was before it became a subscription.
This time, still no need for subscription so I must be grandfathered in.
    (I would've been so pissed)

That's good to hear JP that you got the good deal. What did you have to pay before?

Didn't they require a $20 "pro" upgrade back then that allowed customization just like their new subscription plans?

I have no record of that, doesn't mean it's no so.

Since fuelley.com refuses to seperately log plugin efficiency the way they do strictly gas cars, maybe Carista can?

Couple of questions ... any others that have used Carista or other OBD adapters to modify settings for the PRIMEs? Any other good settings for the rest of us to consider modifying from the factory default? I would like to make changes before my 30-day trial is over.

Also, anyone using any iOS app to get realtime driving data from Carista? Does it work well?

    Thanks

Can you adjust the volume of the Vehicle Proximity Notification system to level 2 or Level 3, with Carista OBD2?

Would it work with other ODB2 adapters like the BAFX or must be Carista's adapter?
    Thanks.

I don’t know why everyone hates the backup beep so much. I understand that this is your first time with an electric car and you don’t want to hear that “annoying” noise, but remember there is no feedback in the gears or selector. I deactivated the beep, and one time I was in a rush and thought I brought the selector all the way over to R but I didn’t. I caught my mistake very quickly but I immediately turned the beep back on after that incident after I realized is a vital safety feature.

I didn't turn it off, I just made it one beep. Much less annoying that way and still the notification.
