Hi everyone first time stating a thread. I have a used 2005 Prius w/ ~125k miles; got it at 109k. I’ve owned it for 2yrs; within the last year it has developed a severe vibration from within the engine compartment between 45-70mph and when the engine is throttling; incrementally getting more pronounced- worse. I noticed it upon return from a long 5k mile roundtrip roadtrip around the national parks of Zion-Yellowstone-Mt Rushmore; there I had first used the B-gear for an extended period of time descending Colorado mts-- going eastbound. If I were to coast and decelerate below through the 45-70mph, I don’t get these vibrations. Also i just got a new set of 4 new tires (new balancing as well) and the symptoms are still the same from the old and new tires. Example in warp glide mode, when I gas up thru 45-70mph, I get notable engine compartment vibrations. Also I get these on longer trips at +1hr into the roadtrip; from coldstart in the morning to work, the vibrations are not noticeable; but more pronounced on longer building trips.
    Big thanks.

Yep, engine or transaxle mount, or drive axle. Could also be front end alignment, wheel bearing or worn suspension part. I'd have an alignment shop check things over.

    Team,
    thanks for the info.
The car is now working like new; me thinks the CV axle change was the biggest with the other perhaps helping out, but nomore vibrations as i just conlcuded a 500mile roadtrip:
    - CV axle change out; the inside boot was shredded and fell out as i swapped out the left driverside hub/bearing;
    - transmission fluid change
    - both front bearing/hubs change
    - sparkplug change
    - overhead gasket seal

It may be the TPS sensor or throttle body. Mine did the same thing and finally gave an engine code.

Cost was only for parts as i performed all the labor; YouTube vids were necessary.
    - $80 driver side CV axle replacement
    - $5 MAF & throttle body cleaning spray (OBD2 sensor directed 2 codes for me to clean)
    - $70 right/left front hub/bearing
    - $60 right/left rear hub/bearing
    - $80 right/left front disc rotors
    - $60 right/left rear drums
    - $36 toyota parts 4 qts ATF W; transmission fluid change; pretty pricy from Toyota dealer
    - $68 change 4 iridium sparkplugs / 4 boots
    - $15 overhead gasket seal

this car is back to hummmming; should be good for another 50k miles
