After 4 months of Prime ownership, I have encountered my first rather annoying issue. Yesterday the touchscreen crashed 6 times while listening to the FM radio. The screen goes black and will reset as if the car just turned on.

    Anyone else encountering the issue?

Several folks have reported such concerns. I don't recall any resolution, but perhaps you can do a search here.

Are you charging an i-Phone using a uncertified cord via USB? If so, the touch screen resets... to fix you can use a certified cord or the other connection that's typically used for lighting cigarettes

I was not charging an iPhone yesterday, merely listening to the FM radio and the touchscreen kept crashing.

Maybe Toyota pushed an unstable update recently?

Just to be clear ... does that mean nothing was plugged into the USB port?

Nothing was plugged into the USB. Merely driving along listening to the FM radio, and the infotainment system crashed on 6 different occasions in one day.

My trips today have all been under 5 minutes each. I'll have to wait for a longer drive to see if this issue pops up again.

Or perhaps a supplier gave them a bad run of some particular part, and their in-coming QA for the P.Prime was not (yet) sufficient to catch it.

You folks who are having spontaneous-reboot problems (thankfully I'm not), might want to compare your serial numbers. Admittedly, it might not say much, given the small sample size, but ... maybe...

    Sorry to hear that.
I assume everyone here is talking about the 11.6" size touchscreens?
Has anyone reported such issues with the 7" screen, or just the 11.6?
(the 11.6 does have different software)
For those of us with the 7" Plus trim, I've had no problems with the screen...

A day or two after I said that, I did indeed myself experience an apparently-spontaneous reboot this evening! First time in 6ish months of having the car.

Nothing particularly suspicious was going on at the time: I started the car about 2-3 minutes earlier, and it rebooted as we left the grocery-store parking lot. Sound system off, no phone activity, just the map doing its thing...
