2014 Prius v Three - SofTex Seats???

    Yesterday I bought a 2014 Prius v "Three". The seats sure don't look like fabric. Are they SofTex? If so, I am wondering how did they get on the "Three"? I thought the "Three" had cloth seats. I have attached a picture so you can see the seats. Thanks so much!

    I have a v five. These aren't softex. These look like Custom real leather. They looks nice, and comfortable! Nice

    Toyota has a kit they sell with a Toyota part number that I had installed on my '12 v Three. Part of my deal and the dealer farmed it out to an auto upholstery shop. I always thought it was Softex as that was what I expected. But I looked a few weeks ago and while looking for something else in the receipts noticed it is leather.

    Rdgrimes, Aaron, and Mikefocke…..Thank you so much for your insightful responses. The more I look and feel the seats I agree that they are leather. What is strange is that the dealer did not mention a thing about the seats when he showed me the car! I commented on them but did not want to push it since I had already negotiated a good price for the car before I came to inspect it at the dealership. I am thrilled with the leather seats.

    I always thought mine were Softex in the kit. But then I got to looking yesterday at the paperwork I got with mine and they were listed as leather with instructions for leather maintenance. I posted yesterday the specific brand and part number that were on the warranty card. After 5 years and 37k miles I am pleased. I do note the drivers armrest is a bit stained. But then I have done nothing in the way of maintenance to them figuring all this time they were artificial.

    Mike…very interesting. Maybe mine were from kit too or custom aftermarket. I have never had leather seats before. What was recommended for maintenance? Mine are in 2014 with 33K miles - they look really good with no stains. I want to keep them up.

    Katzkin leather from the folder I received when I bought the car after the kit had been installed." Your leather should be cleaned with a soft cloth and a small amount of mild soap and water. Allow the soap solution to free the soil for several minutes then completely clean off all soap with a damp clean cloth. DO NOT USE ABRASIVES. After cleaning, apply a generous amount of leather conditioner and allow it to penetrate your clean leather for around five minutes, then buff off with a clean cloth. NEVER USE SILICONE BASED PRODUCTS!"

    I sent a email the other day to Katzkin asking exactly what the product was as I was not expecting leather, though certainly not disappointed. Haven't heard anything from them.

    Today I got a not so helpful reply to my request for information on what the Katzkin seat/arm-rests covers were made of. They said "leather and vinyl". But no specifics on what surface was made with what material.
