Hit a pot hole today and my rim is bent...

    Ouch! Sorry - our roads around Philly are in terrible shape too. I almost hate to drive around here anymore . . .

    BTW, when i was young and learning to drive, i was told to never ever brake while hitting a pothole as it would prevent the wheel hopping out from the pothole and potentially create major wheel or suspension damage. Are you guys aware of that? I need to check with my son on that.

    I can see that. With the brakes applied hard the wheel slams against the far wall of the pothole. Brakes off: it can roll over that wall easier.

    That can be fixed. I had the same thing happen on my S2000 with my Rpf1's. It was $60 to have it repaired and it was good as new.

    Thanks for all the input! I'm replacing the rim and putting in a claim with the city.
    Didn't replace the tire, but I'm definitely going to keep an eye on it.

    I think that is a BAD call.
    Especially if you think your claim has a chance of being successful (no payment for damaged tire).

    I hope you at least put that suspect tire on the rear.
