I will likely pull the trigger on ordering a Prime by the end of the year. I'd like to get tinted windows, and I'm thinking of getting dark tint on the back and rear passenger windows, and a lighter tint on the front passenger windows.

Has anyone used different tint shades on different windows? If so, were you happy with that decision?

The back windows are already tinted a slightly darker shade. I've had my windows tinted at an aftermarket tint shop. I got Llumar ceramic tint all around, 30% on windows and 80% on the windshield. I'm very happy with the results. Not so dark that it affects vision, yet really cuts the heat to a very noticeable extent. 99%+ UV blocking as well. Not cheap, but worth it.

Lovely! Does ceramic clear block both heat and UV?

    Thanks for posting the photos.

Well if you get window tint in NY State be advised they check that on the annual car Inspection's. Hope your not in the Nanny state like I am. Window tint is nice just don't go to dark. At night time it's hard to see through the windows.

Yeah, I would not get any tint on the windshield - wouldn't do anything that compromises night vision. I was thinking of a light tint on front windows & darker tint on back windows, where the night vision wouldn't factor in.

Do they have a clear tint what you could put on the windshield that would protect from UV?

Oops...should have read the posts above.

Hello everyone! Has anyone on here done their Prime Advance visor? Non clear. I'm trying to figure out if putting a visor would affect the raindrop sensor. The front camera doesn't get affected since it's clearly in that covered area.

I'm about to get mine done the same as yours. I was given a quote of $550. Does that compare with what you paid? Thanks

Great outfit that I used before for my other Prius Plug-In, charged me $280. Had work done in two hours. High quality lifetime warranty on tint; all windows with same medium dark tint. Didn't do windshield again because it's a pain keeping it clean.

I just got 35% all around as that's all I can do in Illinois... didn't want to mess around with a headache should cops pull me over for dark tints

After thinking about it, I am not sure I want dark like 20% on the back windows and hatch. I think it would make it hard to see things at night using the rear view mirror. Thinking 35% or 40% now. Also, somewhere I read that if the tinting place uses a metallized film it could cause interference with radio and satellite signals. I am guessing UV protection is about the same with all shades. Not sure on that.

No problem with 20% at night. I don't have an auto dimming rear view mirror and in SUV land where I live, the car would be lit up inside at night with HID and LED SUVs behind me, super annoying!! With the tint it's like my prior Lexus with auto dimming rear view and side mirrors no problems. FWIW: Most factory tint on SUVs is 20%. Another option is to do 20% on the back and 35% or whatever your state legal limit is on the side.
