I know that Tanabe and Cusco make them - are there any other brands that fit, even if they're not specifically for a Prius?

DO NOT order one from Ultra Racing. They swore up and down to me that it was designed to fit a left hand drive car so I ordered one (I'm in the US and drive a US model). Long and short, it did not even come close to fitting because of the various fluid reservoirs on the drivers side of the car. Ultra Racing ended up giving me a full refund and allowed me to keep the bar. Since the bar was of superior construction/design, I had used the refunded money to pay a fabricator to modify it to fit the car. It's great now but not worth the hassle and expense for someone else. I will post a thread soon showing the pros and cons.

    Good Question!

Toms Racing makes a one piece Tower Strut bar that fits your Gen3 Prius. There are a select few members on Prius Chat that are running the bar and have noticed a significant difference on the improved handling of the car.

I've heard that from a bunch of folks here, that this brace makes a big difference in handling.

I know that there are parts from other cars - matrix, yaris, scion, lexus ct200h, etc., that fit in various locations on the Prius, and I've seen a wide variety of prices for strut tower braces, so I guess I was hoping that there'd be something out there that was a bit less expensive that the Tanabe Sustec. Sneaking anything for the car that costs more than $100 past my wife is very difficult...and talking her into it is almost impossible.

Unfortunately with Tanabe, you cannot access your fuse panel without taking the bar off

You can but you you have to cut one of the tabs on the back of the fuse box cover

Low profile wheels and tires (high profile tires rows promotes lateral lean) will do tons more for handling vs strut tower ( which makes no contact with the road ) ask yourself how offense you slash your prius side to side like a manic on street road! My opinion strut tower are a waste of $$ unless planning to track it! And who tracks a prius! If so the numbers it put up is lol! My be it's for bragging rights! I think for best bang for your bucks is a addition of a rear sway bar on the trailer bar, you find it stiffen up the back end and helps tracking!
