Rodent Prob Lawsuit

we have stink bugs. they're kind of cute, very slow moving.

 

Don't need to be fast. Eat one and you'll know why.

The Order Hemiptera includes a most dreaded blood-feeder, after mosquitoes, previously discussed somewhere around here. Reduvid 'kissing bugs' are not in Oregon or Massachussetts, so that's a good thing.

 

i'm reading that ours are the 'western conifer seed bug'. they look a little different.

 

Oh, you can eat those (one will probably suffice), or almost all other Hemiptera. They use their needle-mouths to feed on plant sap. Only a very few have changed over to blood.

Knowing which Reduvid is 'bad' is hard enough (for me) that I just crush all candidates with care to avoid any physical contact. Wash the 'crush spot' with ethanol. Their parasites cause a disease sufficiently icky to justify my mania.

 

Water boatmen are Hemiptera that will look good in your insect collection. Not easiest to handle though; needle mouth will zing you if given a chance. If not, they'll poop on you.

Fried food in Thailand. But then, what isn't?

 

Just spotted some true bug in the hallway here at work.
Lucky me, I can't smell the stink bugs at all.
There are some beneficial members that suck on pest species, google assassin bug if interested.

They are in Louisiana. Haven't heard of Chagas' becoming a concern for people there yet, but dogs are getting infected.

 

Yep, Gen II problem as well. Dealer just found rat nested next to air filter box.
$300 for dealer labor.
How much would it cost for exterminator to remove em out of my car.
