The only things that I could find that seem to reference the "Audio system screen" are on page 153 of the owners manual. These details can be displayed on the smaller screens, so not an issue there.

You didn't actually answer the question that you quoted.
I too am curious if the Maestro unit enabled you to somehow keep your steering wheel controls?

*btw - that Alpine unit looks really clean w' the dash. It's just a shame that it doesn't support FLAC playback.

    My bad.

Yes, I was able to keep "most" of the controls. The phone dials, "hey siri" button, volume, track skip etc etc all work perfectly. The only things that don't work would be the few diagnostics that you need the OEM head unit to see.

And yeah, the Pioneer SPH-DA120 plays FLAC files, and that was a big deciding factor for me personally.

Overall how do you like the SPH-DA120? I've decided that I need to upgrade my head unit to get the sound I want and I was looking at that stereo as an option.

Love it. I've had it in 2 vehicles and it has been flawless. It has 2 USB inputs in the back so that you can run cables into the glove box for a hard drive etc. I've installed a few other aftermarket mods to it and all work perfect. PM me if you have any questions.

Did you do this install yourself? Did you use the Toyota T01 harness kit for Maestro on the install? The reason I ask is I am having troubles with my own install.

I am currently doing an install in my 2016 Prius Two. I have replaced all speakers in the door and dash, thus far. I am attempting to install an AVH-4200NEX reciever in my car. I have purchased the dash kit, head unit, IDATALINK-MAESTRO RR, and the Toyota T01 Harness for ease of installation as recommended by Crutchfield. I flashed the Maestro Module and have ensured I have the correct firmware on the head unit. After installing all of the wires and plugging them into the factory harness, I am not getting any power to the head unit. Does anyone have any experience with this that might be able to offer some insight. Hooking the head unit up to the battery has proven that it will power up. I have attempted re-flashing the unit and will attempt the install again later this evening. Also, the T01 harness package does't seem to have a harness to integrate the factory backup camera with a connector. Does anyone have a schematic on this to associate the wire colors back to the backup camera harness included, so that I may attempt a splice?

    Thanks for any assistance!

has anyone replace a head unit yet and maintained the steering wheel controls, adaptive cruse, and lane departure?

    Thanks!

What Anthony said- as well as if removing the head unit also means the windshield HUD stops working (or if only the features specific to your model stop displaying but speed/engine still works).

You will lose a few minor HUD items, but honestly, nothing that 99% of people will miss. The few tiny things you lose vs. the frustration with Toyota's crappy stereo and (groan) Entune....it's a non-issue.

I have ZERO regrets, and I'd do it all over every. single. time.

Just to clarify, we're talking about the HUD (on the windshield in select models) and not the Dash/Console displays, right? I don't want to lose the speedometer projection. I don't care about turn by turn arrows.

I didn't lose any functionality in the 3 smaller screens. There are a few random stats that could only be displayed on the original head unit. Those you lose. I don't even remember what they are, and do not miss them.

Your Trim Two does not have the HUD.

What is original Prius head unit model name and spec? Does it have HDMI in port?

Are you asking about the Canadian models or US? I know the head unit in the US varies depending on the Trim level.

I asked about head unit with navigation. I think Canadian and US units with navigation are the same - am I correct?.

I would expect the units to be different. @Tideland Prius might know. He has seen both US & Canadian units, I believe.

They're going to be similar, but almost certainly different part numbers. No HDMI input that I'm aware of on any North American Prius, though.
