Yeah it's that new regulation that basically means all rear headrests will no longer be collapsible. Too many people not extending and using the rear headrests so the regulators decided to permanently have them deployed.

That being said, the UK spec ones don't come up high enough. They need to extend another 2-3" to match the US spec headrests.

Yeah, it's called regulations lol. Notice how all Toyotas and Lexus after 2010 ish (depending on when they were redesigned) have large rear headrests?

It's the minimum height regulation, not plushness or whiplash injury specifications.

Well, the height and backset regulations are intended to reduce whiplash injuries.

Yesterday I saw a blizzard Prius Prime driving on the 405 South near Torrance. I zipped past it in my Gen3, it was going slow, maybe 55mph. Looked very similar to the standard Gen4, wavy rear spoiler and front bumper won't be noticed by most people.

maybe most here, but the average consumer will be knocked over with a feather.

The rear wavy dip in the tail light bar and the matching slump in the rear window look very odd to me in the photos. I'm really looking forward to seeing a Prime in person.

IMG_3303.JPG I couldn't find a more appropriate thread to add this-- so, since this thread was talking about the Prime's wavy hatch window, I thought I'd add it here. Here is the Peugeot RCZ. It is available in many countries, but not the US, so this might be a new car to to those of us in the USA. I've never seen it until this afternoon in Paris.

Okay, that looks even more weird than the Prime's rear window. To me it looks like it's been parked in the hot afternoon sun too long.
