When running the radar cruise control, I keep getting the screen pop up on my little screen which shows the 3 bars that appears when you set your follow distance of short, medium or long. It's really annoying as if I'm for example on a different screen like HV system info every minute or so or as I car comes up ahead of me the screen pops over any other screen and I need to hit back to get rid of it or wait for it to automatically disappear. What is this telling me and is there a way to disable it?

    Thank you!

It's telling you it detected a car. I'm not sure there's a way to disable it.

Perhaps it is time to open a trouble ticket. Add an NHTSA report too.

At least it returns back to your previous screen. On the Gen 3, it doesn't . You have to always press DISP to change back to the previous screen.

I would've suggested that disable pop-up solution too but it appears from other responses that it doesn't solve it.

I suppose legal department at Toyota vetoed the cancellation option - it is a safety feature.

In the world of problems, this is a nit. The flaw is the screen customization does not work in this case. For an enhancement, I would like the default to enable use of the AC when charging since I live in North Alabama and summer will be here soon.

    Buy a Honda, or a Mazda, or a ...

Nobody knows why Toyota continues their stupid stuff that clutters the stupid multi function display. If an ordinary instrument panel is good in other Toyotas, why not in the Prius? The same with the internal back up beeper, where an external one would be a better safety item. Stupid.

I like my Prime. I do not like everything about it.
