I'd talk with your dealer as it should have come with the car if it's needed.

    Why ??

It is possible that there is no map data available for your area........from the supplier of the GPS in that car.

Sorry, I don't understand - did the dealer say that a SD wasn't available? Or that Map Data wasn't available?

car. I checked with Here Co. how prepare the data map, they have some sort of map for my area. I think because the car is imported from the third country maybe the data map was from that country and because of that the dealer said there is no data map on this

Yes he said there is no data map. But because without data map a major part of the system does not work, I trying to get a data map which can recognize it.

Duplicating the cards, if it can be done at all, may violate the copyright laws, so I won’t address it further.

Someone here might be able to tell you a part number for a microSD card that you could buy, however, but we would need to know which navigation system you have. Worldwide, there are over 20 different versions, made by several different Toyota suppliers, and the map cards aren’t necessarily compatible.

Could you answer these questions, please?
    • In what country was your Prius originally sold as a new car?
    • Which model of Prius do you have? What is its model code? For the cars discussed in this forum, the model code contains “ZVW5” and is stamped or engraved on the same plate as the frame number.
    • Is there an ID number marked on the front of the navigation receiver assembly (the touch-screen unit), in small type near the lower right or lower left corner? Here are a few possible numbers, listed with the corresponding Toyota part numbers, but this is not a complete list:
    ID 100395: FUJITSU TEN, 86140-47260
    ID 100397: FUJITSU TEN, 86140-47340

    ID 100399: FUJITSU TEN, 86804-47370

Actually it is a new car but it came to my country from UAE. The model is ZVW5 and the id of navigation is 510055.

Sorry, I don't understand the logistics of an international purchase, or of your local conditions. Maybe direct contact with TOYOTA would be an option. Hopefully you can sort it out soon.

For a Navigation Receiver Assembly with ID 510055, one compatible microSD card—according to Toyota’s Electronic Parts Catalog—has Toyota part number 86271-60402. The catalog description for this part is “DISC, DISC PLAYER,” but I’m almost certain it is actually a microSD card; the card for my Prius in the U.S. is described the same way.

This part is unlikely to be available in the U.S. or Japan, but I expect Toyota dealers in the U.A.E. and other GCC countries would have them. There is a seller on eBay offering one for sale, but it’s fairly expensive:

8627160402 Genuine Toyota DISC DISC PLAYER 86271-60402 | eBay

I have no information about what countries or regions are covered in the map database on the card; perhaps the seller could tell you if you asked. If you just want a microSD card to stop the error messages, and not to actually use for navigation, you might try to find a compatible card with out-of-date maps. I don’t know if this exists, but if it does, it might be available at a lower price.

Find someone with a Prius and borrow their card and copy it onto a blank SD card and use it while waiting for your dealer/Toyota to replace the missing one.

I doubt they will find one compatible. This is a Prius imported from UAE to Iran.

Maybe, but I think it is result of Toyota scare of State anger.

Can you do this... copy an Sd card, and use it in your Prius?

I haven’t tried, and postings elsewhere suggest that technological protection measures keep at least the obvious methods from working. My Prius came with the latest version of the navigation database (86271-0E184), and I assume if the microSD card were to fail, a dealer would exchange it under warranty, so I haven’t had any reason to take the time (or risk of causing a problem) to investigate further.

As Toyota notes in their announcement of the 2016 database updates (T-TR-0072-D), the U.S. list price was reduced for 2016. It’s now $169, not $249, and I see Toyota dealers offering the cards online for less. Even so, I expect I’ll wait a few years before buying a new version; I mostly use only the maps, not the points of interest file, and the road network in my area changes slowly.

I can’t speak for the moderators, of course, but I note that a previous thread on a similar topic was deleted, which suggests to me that PriusChat may not be the best place to discuss techniques, if they exist, for making unauthorized copies of map SD cards, legitimately for backup purposes or otherwise.

the SD card has a serial number that can not be changed? That number is keyed to the software on the chip (sd card can not just be copied, and work) . Some here on ebay (usa) are selling the ver that comes with the 2017. I bought one and it is working fine. Good luck on finding a solution.

map data states it is 05/01/2016.
