100,000 Mile Club (1st Gen PiP)

    With several people over 100k here and many approaching, I thought it was time we had our own little 100k club.

    For those that reached 100,000 miles, please post information about your ownership experience. Some questions to think of...

    1) Did you replace the EV/HV battery pack?
    2) Did you replace the 12v lead-acid battery?
    3) Did you replace the hybrid transaxle fluid?
    4) Did you replace the brake pads?
    5) Your lifetime MPG (if available)?
    6) How often do you change your oil? What brand / product did you use?
    7) How about post a picture of 100,000+ miles on ODO?

    I have 97+ thousand miles on my trusty PiP. I expect to reach 100,000 miles early this Fall.

    So far, I have
    - not replaced the traction battery and by its performance, see no need to do so during the functional life of the PiP.
    - I did replace the 12 volt battery with an Optima battery back about 50k miles ago. A random repeated voltage drain when I installed the folding turn signal mirrors killed the 12v battery at the time.
    - I did replace the transaxle fluid when I bought Rude person's's magnetic drain plugs for the oil pan and for the transaxle back about 70K ago. I again replaced the transaxle fluid about 20K ago, "just because".
    - I honestly don't think I ever replaced the brake pads.
    - my lifetime MPG is unavailable due to repeated resets, but had it been available I expect it to be in the high 40s due to many many interstate road trips. My lifetime (??) EV ratio is about 18%, again lower than at first because of repeated interstate road trips since late 2013.
    - once my free five Toyota dealer tuneups were expended, I've changed oil myself, every 10 K miles. I use Toyota OEM oil.
    - additional functional mod: at nearly 50K, I bit the bullet and swapped out the OEM shocks for Cusco coilover springs and shocks. Would I do this again? Yes, despite the noticeable height drop penalty for an already low car... because of the handling gains. It's been almost 50 K since, and I am still pretty happy except for the salty price.
    - I've had Michelin Defenders for a long time on the car now, and I think they are great tires.
    - Bigest disappointment in the nearly 100M milestones = the inadequate mounting design of the rear plastic bumper. That thing has literally detached at both sides and almost fallen off on the road more times than I can remember once the flimsy white side clips wore out over time & mileage.

    Tablet chiclet type-correct correction to the above post: I bought Rude person's's oil and transaxle magnetic plugs. The tablet trans-typed it as "rude person" which was absolutely not my intent or meaning.

    105K on the clock for my 2012 PHV. I think I was the 1st person to buy the PIP at the dealership in my city (4 years ago!?).

    I've done every possible maintenance on this car and it's needed zero repairs. Amazingly reliable car. At the rate I'm going, I can make this car last 300,000 to 400,000 miles.

    I'm sorry, I don't know. The 12V battery has been pulled several times, erasing that data. (I pulled the ground wire when I installed my leather steering wheel, for instance.) But my EV miles are pretty low, at 10% for the past 1,000-ish miles. My mileage now is about 62. I've gone long periods without charging at all. Recently I began charging daily or more because my commute dropped from 80 miles to 22 miles round trip. So now, plugging in is an added convenience which saves trips to the gas station.

    I'm not a hypermiler. I have a sticker for the commuter lane and I use it to drive faster than the other cars. I regularly drive at 70-75mph on the freeway.

    125,000 miles as of today at 21:00
    1) original traction battery
    2) original auxiliary battery
    3) original brake pads
    4) original suspension components
    5 navigation system updated in 2015 just before a road trip through Canada
    6) Transaxle fluid replaced at 60k and getting ready to be replaced in a few weeks
    7) Oil replaced every 10k up to 120,000 miles, now it is being replaced every 5,000 miles with its first 5k oil change yesterday.
    8) Engine coolant replaced at 120,000 and the hybrid system coolant was replaced at 107,000
    9) Spark plugs replaced at 120,000
    10) 3 set of tires due to my driving style (replaced OEM with Bridgestone Potenza RE960 AS Pole Position) They transformed the car's handling but have since being discontinued by Bridgestone. Currently wearing a set of Continental Purecontact with nothing to complain about. Slightly down on performance compare to the Potenza but their are much quieter and provide a smoother ride.

    Just reached 100k miles a few days ago! Owned the car roughly 3.7 years (27k/yr). Not a lick of trouble with it. Will answer the questions below and then below that list out all the nerd facts for you hardcore people.

    1) Did you replace the EV/HV battery pack? lol

    3) Did you replace the hybrid transaxle fluid? still haven't found a compelling reason to despite a few "sky is falling" people on here...so no
    4) Did you replace the brake pads? lol (barely on the second set of tires)
    5) Your lifetime MPG (if available)? 67.5 (more nerdy numbers below)
    6) How often do you change your oil? What brand / product did you use? only have dealers do it (synthetic)....do it every 11-14k total miles or every 8-10k HV miles, whichever comes first

    Car has been absolutely problem free with only oil changes every 10k miles and tires.
    So good I bought a second one and it has 74k and same story ZERO problems.

    You really should replace the transaxle fluid. The juice you've got in there is pretty shot; you'll see when you drain it. A competent dealer should only charge $100

    Duke, don't listen to him. There is an extremely vocal minority on this site that think it's important. There are a ton of people on here with lots of evidence showing it is not needed. In fact some dealers won't even do it if you ask them.

    Actually, there were a bunch of engineers who sampled their transaxle fluid and sent it to labs for analysis and concluded that it should be changed at 30,000 miles and every 60,000 miles thereafter, but it's your car so do whatever you want.
