MiniVCI woes

    So I had my mini VCI working for about two weeks and used it several times. I was using version seven of tech stream, and then I found version 12 online so I decided to try and upgrade.
    Ever sense I tried upgrading my techstream version 12 I have not been able to get it to connect to the cable at all. Even though the MVCI upgrade utility indicates that the cable is connected. I even tried doing a clean install of windows and going back to version 7. I've tried both with windows 1032 bit and windows XP.
    Is it possible that the cable is fried now even though MVCI indicates it's connected and working?

    It is possible.

    Make sure that you have run the software driver for the cable. I don't have any other suggestions.

    Yea that was the case for me as well. Ordered a new cable and it works fine.
    I guess updating the firmware on these things really does dry the cable. Even if you have the file.
