    @Tyler Schafer has a problem:
    Since we no longer own a Gen-1 Prius, I am hesitant to suggest anything I can't test.

    If the 12V battery is dead, the car won't start.

    yes, the codes are stored in the computer, and can be read with an obd2 scanner, preferably a prius aware reader.

    How many miles and how long have you owned it? Did the prior owner give you any history with the car?

    If you can get the car to accessory mode, it should tell you the codes. Do you have a multimeter to read the voltage of the 12v battery? Do you have an OBD II reader?

    I have owned it for roughly 2 months now, the owner didn't give me too much history about the car but he had like 4 other prius's so I was taking his word about the problems with it. He insured me that he tested all the cells and that they were fine, as for how many miles on it there are 213,000 miles

    This is a forum full of Gen-1 helpers and friends of the Prius. So do any of the lights come on when you get in the car?

    I was at the A's game today and could have went the long way home to help;).

    Maybe @gta_ might have a code reader or a multimeter and assist.

    Barely broken in. <GRINS>

    We really don't know how long these car lasts ... usually an accident takes them out. The oldest one I remember had over 315,000 miles when a Buick ran a light and took it out and that was about seven years ago.

    Not sure about @Rebound , but them Red Sox came to play:mad:. It was scout day, and my six year old was tuckered out by the 7th inning. Left a little early and he slept an hour on the way home;).

    Do you have a code reader? If not, we are guessing, but if that is the only light, that's a good sign. What about a multimeter to test the 12v battery?

    Hi Tyler,
    Perhaps you might give us some background information: age, technical background, e.t.c. That way we can make more effective suggestions. For example, do you have backup transportation?

    All my son wanted to do was play on my phone :whistle:.

    Baseball was definitely secondary, but that may have been due to some of the long half innings the Red Sox were putting together.

    Not an A's fan by any stretch (I actually wore Indians garb to the game) which prompted some to ask if they even let Indians fans in the back gate:rolleyes:.

    They actually let me in the front gate and on the field(y).
