Had a half day off from work. Had to get away. Had to burn off at least some of the full gas tank that came with our P.Prime. Had to finally start breaking in the ICE!

    IMG_5899.JPG

Took a ~105mile round trip to Pedernales Falls State Park (Central Texas). That "last drive" presumably refers to the 52.5ish miles back, which was pretty much entirely HV mode. I think I had about 4 miles of EV room, and I still had 1.2 miles when I got back home, so pretty much entirely HV. 67.6MPG, apparently!

The ECO Dashboard says that my cumulative MPG is down from "999.9MPG" to 279.1MPG. The car itself says ~184MPG. Not sure whether either is correct, since they disagree...

It seemed a little less responsive to the accelerator in HV mode than what I'm used to in EV mode. Can't beat that instant torque! In HV, it seemed to be working hard, whereas EV mode feels like gliding on teflon!

If you're on the Tapatalk app on your iPhone, then look for the pencil&paper icon in the top right:

I don't immediately recall what to look for if you're looking at the PriusChat website on Safari...

I think the ECO Dashboard resets to zero MPG on the 1st of every month.

    OK. Interesting...

I haven't yet had the car on the first of any month, but that's good info.

I'm guessing your saying, in part, that that's one way the car's numbers might mismatch the ECO Dashboard's numbers?

correct, especially if the car's numbers roll over to the next month or so.

I'd be surprised if the car's numbers wouldn't be continuously maintained, unless/until you explicitly reset them, but I don't claim to know for sure...

So I imagine that's another way they could mismatch -- explicitly resetting the car's numbers.

are you referring to the trip ODO and hand calculations of your gas fill up?

well don't reset it. wait till you fill up your tank. I've gone 1666.7 miles before I reset it and consumed 9.6 gallons of gas:cool:

Yip, I've done none of the above so far, so it's a little puzzling that they don't match better.

I can't remember exactly how I have all of the displays set, but it displays a cumulative MPG number under the Speedo, saturated at 199.9.

Yep... but it did drop back down below 199.9MPG after today's road trip, to … about 184MPG, as I recall.

Earlier I'd noticed that it seemed to drop down almost immediately when we took a trip across town to a mall that doesn't have a charger. I think I was not imagining that, and in fact it did drop down pretty quickly. However, it took a lot longer today to drop below 199.9MPG, almost certainly because I have a lot more pure-EV-mode miles on the car this time. And of course I'll keep racking up EV-mode miles again tomorrow, and the next day, and the next...

yup, but you see, the thing is the cumulative miles you don't see (beyond the 199.9 MPG) probably won't match the ECO dashboard. Mainly because the average MPG over several months (or even a month and a half) is substantially larger than the one month ECO Dashboard reading.(I'm figuring you already knew this, right?)

I believe there is an ODO avg MPG 199.9 bug. Remind me of PC Y2K bug.
