If I got one, it would be cash. But I prefer used so someone else pays the depreciation. But the Prime is tempting with the tax credit and all.

I have seen 2 used ones online and they are asking full price for them. At least when it is new, you get the tax credit. I wouldn't pay full price for a used one when a new one would be cheaper.

Well.... I work in a residential area, as our office is a converted house on a corner. Anyway across from us is an apartment complex. I try to get in some exercise around here by walking around during the day. Well low and behold, someone in that apartment complex just bought a Blue Magnetism from the same dealer as mine. Don't know how he (or she) is going to charge it, but it was parked out there this morning facing the street.

Still haven't seen a Prime other than at the Detroit auto show. For the past few days I have been in central and southern California visiting relatives and have been on the lookout, figuring this is a good place to see a Prime. Last night I pulled into a grocery store in Buena Park and to my surprise realized that I was parked next to a PIP! The first one that I have ever seen after many years of trying. It looked really good.

I haven't seen any in the Chicagoland area yet but I know a few are out there. I'll keep looking!

PiP's I see all the time around here. There pretty easy to spot as far as I'm concerned from behind if you know what to look for.
And yeah, I am in So Cal.

I saw one in March, before I got mine. Haven't seen any others in the Northwest suburbs of Chicago.

Just wondering... for those driving the Prime in areas where the car almost doesn't exist yet, do you notice other people's heads turning? Or perhaps it's close enough to a normal Prius where people not in the know don't notice...

I've seen other Prii owners do double takes when I'm around them. Not all, but some have checked it out. (could be my imagination though ;))

We've seen two total: one on the beltway around DC on a trip and more recently we saw a blue magnetism one within a 1/4 mile of home.

Yep. I live in San Francisco and see them. I noticed my neighbor 1.5 blocks away has one...

In the early 80s when the Saturn first came out, they had an annual Saturn reunion in Tennessee where they were manufactured. Hundreds of Saturn owners would travel there each year to be together. I am not prepared to drive all the way to So Cal, which I assume is where the critical mass of Prime owners live, but, maybe regional Prime meet-ups are in order.

I saw only once in the last 6 months, on Hwy 99 north bound near Keyes, CA, during my morning commute. It was PP Advanced, metallic gray.

Got mine in March. Have only seen one on I95 heading south to Washington DC. It was an exciting event.
I think I'm the only one in the Philadelphia PA area. Anyone else out there in the Philly area?

I saw one, finally in Minneapolis around Lake Calhoun in Uptown. Barely noticed it, but it was the bright electric blue version. Pretty sweet. Only saw the back. I still check out Rudy Luther in Golden Valley regularly to see one in person and up close.

That brings up a question. If you sold your Prime before you filed your 2017 taxes, could you still claim the credit? If not, could the new owner, or would it just be lost?

Yes. You would be able to claim the credit. The credit only goes to the first owner. If you don't claim it, then no one can after you.
