I made an accessories thread a while back complaining about the lack of after market accessories for the Prime. Several weeks ago, I contacted Canvasback and they sent someone out to a dealership to measure the cargo area of the Prime!

The pattern is finished and they have it for sale online now - with pictures!! They also sell the cargo side pieces, although on the page they just show pics from the 4.

Anyway, I have nothing to do with this company. Just bringing it to your attention because I'm excited about it.

Thanks for sharing, looks nice, much better of course than my homemade one, it seems a bit pricy though

I knew that would be a drawback to some. However, looking through some old emails, I found that I purchased one in May of 2010 for my 2010 Prius, and it was the same price. So while it may be a more expensive option, the price has been the same for at least the past 7 years.

yea, plus, in comparison with what Toyota charges for floor mats, I guess it's reasonably priced. And I would leave those in permanently as i how my MTB in the back at least 2 times a week ... I have asked them 2 questions though: the pics suggest it is a single piece but the description mentions 3 pieces, and the other one is how it "attaches" to the surface, with some kind of velcro? Since i put my bike in i'm a bit concerned about it sliding around ... if I get a good response i'll order them ...

Watching this thread now, as the best Weathertech has is a universal - cut your own shape liner. There is still the official Toyota version, but that doesn't cover the seats either. I'll want to know how this Canvasback deals with the back seats in the upright positions and if the velcro is stiff enough to do the job over time. Awaiting your reviews and photos. Ouch, that price!

Nice that they have so many color options. The Hawaiian pattern at least will match my work shirts and the black interior of the car.

Does it like Velcro in place so when you lift the seats it sticks? It would be a simple addition that would make a big difference.

My old one for a Gen 3 Prius was like that. It was Velcro all the way around. And then had a zipper so you could have one side of the split seat down and the other one up.

that does look good, i've considered that, at least for the left side, as there are some marks already from the rear tire of my mountain bike, dust only for now but when (if) we get rain again in SoCal, it will be mud ... still waiting for an answer from them though :(

My dog is often with me in the car so I put down a small rubber backed bathroom rug on the back seat where he sits. I may do the same thing with a larger rug in the 'cargo hold'. Good enough for me, and I can wrap it around me next winter when I'm stuck in the snow due to the low clearance. :)

Can someone comment on washability and how easy to put on and off this cover? It is expensive but it looks very nice. Our dog is now too old to ride on car with us, but we may get a new puppy in a future. I also have to use the PRIME for my backyard farm works until we get another car for that purpose. I use to haul 12 bales of straws at a time in empty back (all rear seats removed) of Sienna, but I l had to get rid of the minivan when it developed large ticket repair problem. I never thought the Prime's cargo space is big enough for bales of straws, but turns out, with rear seats folded, I was able to put 4 bales in Prime. I used an old bed quilt to cover everything.

I prefer blanket for everyday, most applications, it's more flexible/versatile, adaptable to seats being up or down. Lift the hatch floor and tuck an inch of the blanket under, keeps it in place. And for heavier duty, say moving some firewood: put in a tarp temporarily.

Yap, that's what I currently use. Though mine is an old Queen size bedspread. It is thin enough to be folded away when it's not in need yet large enough to cover entire second row seats when spread and is totally washable.

Also, the blanket works as a make-shift thermos when you are hauling hot or frozen foods home from the store. I still have the cargo Toyota cargo liner to protect against leaking items.

Interesting how someone posts something new for the Prius, and everyone immediately starts trashing it.
