Does Your Prime have this Sticker about Reduced Load Capacity?

I just noticed a strange sticker on my Prime, not too far from the door jam area.

Does anyone have the same sticker on their Prime?

    It reads:
"CAUTION: LOAD CARRYING CAPACITY REDUCED. Modifications to this vehicle have reduced the original load carrying capacity by __7kgs__ or __16lbs__."

It's a yellow sticker is actually kind of below the door jam area (the door jam being where the MADE IN JAPAN/Date Manufactured plaque and other information plaques are). Except this is just a peel-off yellow sticker that seems to have been put on haphazardly (in my case, diagonally).

    (a) Does everyone's (your) Prime have this sticker?
    (b) What would cause this sticker to be put on the car? What possible "modifications" would it be to reduce the load carrying capacity from what the Prime would otherwise be? I have NO optional accessories or dealer add-ons (except sticky-tape around the doors that doesn't weigh anything) and have just the bottom-end PLUS trim!

Have a look at the picture.
    What the heck?!
    Thanks!

I believe they ship with generic wheels and tires and the ones you get are put on at the port. 4lbs extra per wheel/tire combo?

Don't know... but doesn't seem like they would ship with wheels/tires that they'd then have to change on everyone's car? Again, nothing special about my tires or wheels, I even have the lowest end trim (Prime). Strange.

Other Prime owners: do you have this (or a similar) sticker on your car?

From an article about Toyota Logistics Long Beach from the Gen 3 /PiP shiptracking days. I thought it was odd too. Remembering but probably wrongly something about using them for Corolla base model wheels or for export?

I have a base Gen 4 Prius trim Two. I too have the sticker. I believe some in the Gen 4 thread had different numbers.
Somebody thought it might have been due to port installed options. The only option my car had was the carpeted mats because my dealer orders them on every car.
Unless @Prius Team helps here we will only be guessing.

Why not? Cargo and passenger load is basically gross vehicle weight minus curb weight. Anything that increases curb weight will reduce the load weight.

Could this sticker because of the inflator kit and EVSE cord being added to the trunk.

That sounds like the weight of the 'all weather floor mats.'

Don't know why. The only options I have are the all weather mats and rear bumper applique. I guess we need someone from Toyota for the answer.

    EDIT: changed pic, removed VIN
have that sticker too, I have the standard floor mats ... looks like we are all slightly differently impacted, seems that this is port installed options ... to @stevepea what options do you have? there might have been some installed and dealer removed them at maybe your request?

You might want to hide your VIN...

I've read on PC that they ship with the tires you get when you get the car and they are over-inflated during shipping. They are supposed to fix the psi before the consumer gets the car. Some on here have received theirs with over 50 psi.

    Hi Steve,
Yeah I have the yellow sticker indicating that the car has been modified... with 3Kg and 6Lbs as the values.

I've got the answer: it must be the supercharger on my Advanced!!. Aw, just messin' with ya!!
I guess someone could try to find out what it's about, but is it really worth a lot of research time? I suppose if someone offered me some bucks...!
Business is slow since November 2016....! (Scowl, gnar, gnar..!)

Thanks for posting your pics/sticker info. I wanted to make sure it wasn't just me before I called Toyota (as you can see, the stickers aren't just scribbled on, they have the car's VIN and exact modified weight computer-printed, so couldn't figure out what "modifications" might have had done).

Well, I just called Toyota and think I found out the reason why:
My car came with All Weather Floor Mats and Cargo Tray. Not add-ons at the dealer, but according to my VIN, put on at the dock. Didn't realize those were accessories -- or that just the mats and cargo tray in back would weigh 16 POUNDS!
But here's what Toyota told me:
    All Weather Floor Coverings: 8.22lbs
    Cargo Tray: 6.92lbs
    Wheel Locks: 0.8lbs.

So the "Modifications" are just the floor & cargo mats -- which weigh 16LBS!
Who would've thought floor mats could weigh so much.

Maybe I should just take them out and substitute cheap, lightweight floormats. Living in SoCal, I absolutely do NOT need All-Weather floormats (just an excuse to make more $$). And it's weighing down the car 16lbs.

--> Anyone have an inexpensive, lightweight 3rd party floormat suggestion?

Anyway, that explains the stickers... whatever your modified carrying distance is, it's because of things like the floor mats.
    Thanks!

To answer stevepea, mine didn't come with floor mats which is probably why although I have the sticker, the numbers are zero. Since the salesman didn't recommend adding them, I went to Costco and bought a set there; somewhere around the $20-$25 range. Brought them home, marked where the hooks on the front mats were and drilled holes there to secure them.
