Build Date vs Purchase Date

    Just curious about the difference between the build date shown on the door and the date you purchased your prime. Mine shows a build date of 2/17 - I purchased 4/25/2017.

    Base on the few responses, it looks like it the time from build to purchase is about 2 months. Considering the time it takes for the cars to come from Japan after build, this somewhat confirms what we all know; the cars do not stay on dealers lots very long. Probably only a few weeks at most.

    When I told the three dealers that I was going to Washington DC to pick up my Prime, the local dealer which is about a mile and a half from where I live said they had a Blue Magnetsim Advanced coming in about a few days, so my car didn't stay in the dealer's lot for very long.

    Appreciate I'm in the wrong forum, but I'm kinda proud of this:

    We purchased our 2010 "new", with about 10 km on the odo, in November 2010. Build date was August 2009. It was at the back of a corral of cars, in a semi-enclosed display shed. Very dusty. There was a dead bird lying beside it.

    Almost identical.
    Mine has a 2/17 production date, bought it in April, just a few days apart from you.

    Interesting, if you look at the energy history of my car, it shows energy usage for March. Wouldn't it still have been on the ship by then? Do you think they're tested when they arrive, or could it have just gotten to the dealership at the very end of March?

    Some, shall we say, "encouraging" info here. Our Prime / Premium (supposedly... according to my sales rep) "tentatively" has a mid-June build date, so... IF it's here within seven weeks of its speculative / approximate build date :unsure:, we could have it JUST in time for my road trip starting on the 17th of August... (y) ........
