After poking around, it looks like the Prius Prime going to take awhile for it to trigger down to TX...If I am going with the Prime, I'd like to wait for Toyota to give some type of incentives (like $2500) to entice me...otherwise, I'd go with something else... Which of these would you go for?

    1) 2017 Prius Prime Advanced
    2) 2018 Lexus LC500
    3) 2018 Lexus LS500

I'd probably get the 2018 Dodge Demon for my daily commute. I heard the LC500 is too heavy.

Those are extremely different vehicles. A Prime vs a top of the line Lexus?

You can buy a Prime in New England and get the $2500 discount now. Several members have bought out of state and either did a road trip to pick up their new car or had it shipped to them.

You don't really provide enough information to help you make a decision like this. Like what is your commute like each day? Do you have access to charging at work and at home? What about these three vehicles interests you?

Coming to a Prius chat room would lead me to believe you are leaning at least somewhat toward the Prius. But without knowing a little more we would just be shooting randomly into the air on reasons you should buy one over the other.

Here is how I "got here"...I used to drive a LS460 but got into an accident last year and the car was totaled. Instead of buying another LS knowing that the remodel will be coming out this year, I bought a cheap car as a temp while waiting instead (2016 Prius -- paid off).

The 2018 LS500 model is not available yet. It is slated to be available around Dec of this year. LC500 is available now for ordering.

Recently my mother's car is breaking down so I am planning to give her this Prius and get a Prime (that's why I'm here in this sub forum). So that's what bring me to open this thread.

    Here are some pros/cons...

    Get a 2017 Prime.
Pros: Paid off right away, and drive it for 2 years to save money then get the new LS or LC and have enough money to pay that off as well.
Cons: It's a Prius...not my cup of tea but hell what do I do when I'm not loaded like the 1%.

    Get a LS/LC:
Pros: My ideal car...don't have to drive Prius.
Cons: Be in debt (financing) for a couple years...paying interest etc..

The voice of reason in my head is go with the Prime for now...but the other side is screaming for the LS/LC... LOL...

Since you love luxury and speed in the Lexus and the understated beauty and elegance of the Prime, may I suggest to you the love child of the Prime and the Tesla S90 after their steamy date somewhere in Maine: Porshe Panamera S E-hybrid

Listen to the "Force" and trade Mom's Prius for the LC in a couple of years. Give her the Prime.

Yeah I considered Porsche/Tesla/Audio/BMW/Merc..etc...came down to Lexus for reliability and reasonably priced.

Thanks...I may go the Prime route since it makes the most sense for now. Besides, waiting will help out on pricing as well as dealer are now charging over MSRP for the LC...I'm sure the LS will be the same when it's available in a few months.

Since you have 2016 Prius Three that should have TSS-P, keep it. Time is on your side in this case and you don't need additional depreciation loss.

Although I don't share your Lexus-love, I would skip the Prime even though there are excellent deals to be had. I like our Prius Prime Plus and the small screen works for us. Still it doesn't make sense to buy a car that is just a bridge to a future Lexus IF the '2016 Prius Three' meets your requirements.

    Regardless, GOOD LUCK!

I personally would take the Prime over either lexus, but I really am annoyed by low gas mileage cars, and I'll take high MPG over power or "luxury". (as long as said high mileage cars has the bare minimum of features like DRCC and the other safety features a Prime has) I order a Prime Advanced at full MSRP...

For you, I have a feeling you wont be happy until you get your Lexus, so you'll probably be happier (and with less cash outlay) if you wait altogether and not buy anything now. Waiting for a discount on something is a loser, you'll never get what you want because the next big thing out is just around the corner and it'll be full MSRP.
