I am looking into replacing my cabin air filter for my 2016 Prius (Gen 4). I've already bought filters claiming to fit my car, but they are apparently for the Gen 3 Prius. Websites have still not been updated for the Gen 4! Even Toyota's own list contain the Gen 3 as the latest (2010-Current, should be 2010-2015 and 2016-Current).

If anyone knows, please help me find the part number for the cabin air filter that fits my car. I'm sick of shipping back returns.

P.S. I'd prefer the version with the charcoal.

    Thanks all!

I have not yet. I don't really like to talk on the phone, but I will if I can't find the information online. I'm surprised this information is so difficult to locate online and toyota's own list has not been updated for almost two years. I'm hoping someone knows

Your attachment appears to be for engine air filters not for cabin air filters.

Are you within easy driving distance of a dealership parts department? If so: pick up the phone, it won't bite, lol.

I shop Amazon with the best of them, but when the dealership has complete parts inventory, available and nearby, that's what I use. Why not? It'll reduce this:

Funny thing is, 6.5 years and 68K km's on, we're still on the original filters, they both are fine.

I do live close to one. Never bought individual parts from Toyota before. Do they sell them for reasonable prices or are they going to be marked up? I feel like genuine parts would be much cheaper online.

Maintainence schedule said to replace at 30k miles, am I safe to just remove the debris and continue using mine? My car is at 30k miles right now.

Called Toyota, confirmed the charcoal cabin air filter part above and obtained the number for the pollen cabin air filter: 87139-28020. In case anyone is wondering in the future.

Or is it "inspect and replace if necessary"? Not sure. You're obviously piling on the miles a lot faster than us, there's that.

The cabin filter id be less stringent, more inclined to clean and reinstall. Engine filter I'd just monitor, and replace if and when it's getting moderately dirty.

Thank you. I do commute very far for work, 150 miles a day for 5 days a week. Probably best to replace the engine air filter and monitor the cabin. Thanks again.

i went to the local parts department and asked if they could give me a discount. they offered 40% off. no idea how that compares to amazon, but i think they are starting to realize that some profit is better than none.
they also do email thru their website. i also hate the phone.

Yeah I buy everything through dealership, as I need it, not in bulk. That way too, I get an nice dated invoice with the dealership's letterhead. But, I have to walk by all the new and shiny cars.
