Will there be mirror-integrated turn signals on 2018?

I remember, I think it was in the 90s, Radios were an optional extra in Mercs.
When I was younger, I used to think a joystick might be a good idea for steering, but having developed a slight hand tremor lately I think it would be difficult to use for some of us oldies.

Apart from our excellent hybrid synergy system, of course. Nobody's bettered that yet, have they?

Have the small outer sector separated by a line, but for the life of me there seems to be no difference all the way across. Just plain glass mirrors!

The HSD will be optional on the next version. Base model will be pedal powered.

The bean-counters at Toyota left this out. My 2015 Subaru had turn signals in the mirrors and I miss having that feature on my 2017 Prius. I find it odd since Japan and other countries require them, why not simply use the same mirror? Other than the BSM indicator, it would standardize the assembly process. Maybe next gen will have this.

What is the best way to communicate to Toyota desired improvements? Are consumer suggestions even worth the paper they're written on?

If you stand outside the car and look in the mirror, so you can see the bottom window line, then move your head towards and away from the car you'll see the distortion of the window line. It's very subtle, as it's only on the last bit of the mirror, after the separator line.

I think that Danny kidnapped the Prius team and took them to wherever he is hiding out. They used to be quite active here but, to my knowledge, haven't in a long time.

Perhaps a PM would get their attention?

You may want to try a PM to @Prius Team , the Toyota US marketing team.

The Gen I Volt came with the mirror signals, but when it was decided not to sell the Gen II in Europe, they were dropped.

The do that with Spare Wheels - we only get a pretend one - in a country with wide open spaces and road hazards which will rip a tyre up let alone a pretend spare. Middle East gets FULL SIZE Spare Wheels. Some don't get a spare at all (incl the top model here).

Yup. I believe side repeater indicators are a requirement in Europe. No such law exists here so any car that has it (whether it's mirror-mounted or fender mounted) is by marketing choice. The same goes for the rear foglight - It's only found on European cars here and it's a hit or miss as to whether they're standard, optional or not available. It varies by models within each manufacturer.

Country thing. I think the law here requires a flat driver's side and that only the passenger side can be convex. Some vehicles (USDM usually. The Venza and Sienna are the only Toyota vehicles I can think of that have them) will have a separate "blind spot mirror" on the outer edge if each side.

It's fine. We usually just go with whatever is approved for the US; it saves on certification costs.

CD players were optional here through the 2000s on C-Classes (no B-Class in that era). Ditto a "multi-function steering wheel with cruise control". By the time they made a CD player standard, digital music players came along.

There was a changing of the guard.

Same today - lots of stuff which we have on our PRIUS as standard - even a much cheaper Subaru/Focus/Hyundai - is optional on BMW/Merc/Lexus/VOLVO which is up to double the price.

I was only looking today - BMW's 330E hybrid, close to double the price of the PRIUS has RADAR Cruise as an option, have to buy a "pack" which includes it.

When I was choosing a new car last year & bought PRIUS, the LEXUS CT200H was one I was looking at (basically a Gen 3 PRIUS in a fancy suit), but to get it loaded anything like the Gen 4, had to get the most expensive model which added about $25,000 to the price.

Or look at a Gen 3 i-Tech and none of those were even options back then on AU$46,000 cars.

I know in Canada, it was the only one (other than the Ford Fusion [Mondeo saloon in Europe]) to have radar cruise control in its price range. It also added PCS, IPA, nav with traffic and the solar roof.

Our i-Tech Gen 3 was much the same - lots of goodies, much of which wasn't available on cars under $100k, though i-Tech was at a price, albeit ½ of $100k.
