Yeah that's true... guess I kinda felt bad when I told her after rebates I paid much less than she first assumed for the Prime. Ah well...

Debatable? Didnt PIP's with hefty rebates burn through them on their way down, when depreciating.

RAV4 Hybrid? You are giving up some mpg for ground clearance and AWD-i (which is standard equipment).

I have thought about a RAV4 in the past but I really love the Prius and getting crazy gas mileage. Thanks for the suggestion though. I am still undecided about whether to just keep my Prius for now.

Alternatively, you can wait for the next gen RAV4 Hybrid. You've seen the improvements on the new Camry Hybrid for 2018. Couple that with TNGA for a better riding and handling SUV and it might be enough to sway you.

Honda's CRV seems to be giving the RAV4 a run for it's money. I'm not really paying attention, but it's got a diminutive 1.5 liter (turbo-charged) engine, and 8.0 liters/100km (combined). Not a hybrid either.

And rumour has it that it'll be the next vehicle to receive the latest Earth Dreams hybrid system from the Accord.

I LOVE my Gen 3 Prius and have said I will definitely get another one after this. I have looked at other cars and other hybrids but keep coming back to the Prius. Just which one and when. Either Prius Three or Prime Plus

RAV4 hybrid is a consideration for a replacement for Gen3 Prius. I traded my Gen3 with PRIME, and I am regretting I traded it. We can use a second car with larger cargo for my wife. If I am to purchase another car with more cargo and good fuel economy, RAV4 hybrid may make sense especially for those days when PRIME is no go on snow covered roads. I have compared it with CRV, and the problem with CRV is 26mpg in city mileage. Yah, it might beat RAV4 on highway milage, but we do most of driving in town.

Don't disregard looking at Prime Premium. At least when I did comparison shopping for PRIME, I was getting better deal on Premium than Plus. This may not hold for a single dealer who stocks both Premium and Plus model, but when I compared quotes from dealers who had Plus in stock, and dealers who did not have Plus in stock but had Premium, Premium price was less than Plus model. That's with all those incentives and all.

Nice!!! do you have any source of the rumours and/or the timeframe? will that be in time for 2018, or looking at 2019?

My dealer had a few Premium and quite a few Advanced. He found a Plus in the area but I didn't talk numbers on any of them yet since I had just gone to test drive and see if I actually liked it. Sure if I could get a Premium for less I would. Thanks I will look into it.

Although I ended up getting Premium because that was the best deal I could make on then the last day of Toyota incentive offering (was suppose to end on 8/31), what I really wanted was Plus model. As it turns out, after 10 days of driving Prime Premium, I really do not like Softex and 11 inch display, two major upgrades on Premium model lacking in Plus model. The same dealer I purchased Premium did not have Plus in stock then, but they now have Plus model in stock. The incentive deal continuing into Sep, I wish I could turn the clock back and renegotiate the deal, so that I could get Plus model $1000 less than the price I paid for Premium. I would trade my Premium with Plus model + $1000 any time!

How can you be sure that the incentive deal is continuing into September? The current deal expires 9/05 (Labor Day) according to:
New Car Deals | Local Toyota Deals, Incentives & Special Offers
It says: $3,500 cash back, offer ends 9/05 ... ie: right after Labor Day (this is for the North-East)

Wow that's pretty interesting. I have to say when I test drove the car I was overwhelmed by the humongous display. I guess I will see what happens. All along I have been looking to get the Plus and he found the exact car I want so I know it won't be an issue to get. Besides that do you like the car overall? Did you have another Prius before this?

Wow, that's exciting. 2018 model CRV hybrid is just around corner. I guess, I will wait to make a decision on our second vehicle. Only thing is that HONDA usually do not give a huge discount like TOYOTA does. The final price may favor RAV4, but we'll wait to see.

My guess is it continues until 2018 models arrives, but who knows.
