    As the title states I am trying to see if the chicken dance method will work for my situation.

    My car was stolen and my keys were stolen. I bought an SKS fob and a regular fob from Amazon and had a local locksmith program it so that I could at least use a regular old metal key to open the door then use the SKS key to slot in and drive, so we're good there.

    My questions are:

    1. Is my SKS fob now a master?
    2. Can I use it to chicken dance and program the regular fob?
    3. Using the chicken dance or anything, can I program either fob to at least be able to unlock the doors with the button? I do not care at all about the SKS Features.

    Thank you for your time.

    If your (silver logo) key fob is FULLY functional – SKS (i. e. your keyless entry and start works), remote lock/unlock (i. e. you can lock/unlock using the remote buttons) and your car starts with the key in the slot, then yes. Otherwise no.

    For the SKS, check the on/off toggle below the steering column is in the "on" position.

    1. Don't know if any of the fobs are "master" keys.
    2. you can just go to the dealer and get them to program it - some will do it sort of cheap (like $90-100 compared to like $250) if you call around
    3. some dealers will program/register multiple fobs for a single service fee

    I recommend all Prius users do the following before unlocking their car.

    I cannot use the SKS to do anything other than slot it in and start the car at the moment. It's the only fob that will start it, am I still out of luck? I truly only want the unlock and lock buttons on the fob to work, I don't care about anything else.

    Thank you for the reply.

    That is not SKS (keyless entry and start). There are three functions on a SKS remote:
    1. SKS – Keyless entry (lock and unlock) and keyless start;
    2. Remote lock and unlock using the remote fob buttons;
    3. Chip start (Key fob in the slot).
    Yes, you are.

    You already have another thread going asking these questions which has the answers you are looking for. Stick to that one.

    It doesn't serve any useful purpose to cross post multiple threads.
