Does anyone have a time frame when the 2018 will arrive at dealers?

I ordered my 2017 on June 30. It's scheduled to arrive at the end of October. It's got to be after that. The ones that really know aren't talking . . . yet.

Are folks expecting zero changes for the 2018 model?

Honest question - why didn't you just pick one up from the NE like a lot of us? It's got to beat waiting around and the pricing is very compelling.

Carry over model? probably.... just some tweaks to packages and exterior/interior colour maybe (will they offer the Harvest Beige? or will BSM/RCTA become standard like it is on the Prius LB?)

Hoping that if they improve the software that we will be able upgrade our existing software.

I am going to buy a 2018 with this solar sunroof. Recharges about 3 miles per sunny day.

Just curious, not knocking the concept, but how many miles if you park in the shade? How many miles if you use air conditioning to make being in the car bearable, after it has been parked in the sun? Maybe just having it run the air conditioning while it was parked in the sun, without decreasing range, would make it worthwhile.

probably not enough juice to run the a/c. wouldn't be worth it unless you had no option but to park in the sun. in that case, a cost/benefit study would have to be done, unless you're just geeked out at the thought of it.

I think 3km is the conservative number. It's rated up to about 6km/day or so.

Seeing this link this morning ...

Transparent solar cells to let Audi capture energy from glass roofs

... I started wondering if that would be transparent enough for rear-window use, which with a car designed to maximize that solar area, could deliver enough power over the course of a week to cover some folks routine weekly driving.

Probably not in Seattle in the rainy season, but for some folks, some places.

I am trying to understand how a transparent solar cell works. A solar cell converts light energy to electricity, but if the solar cell is transparent, it is not absorbing energy o_O
