I am thinking about buying a 2011 Toyota Prius Two that has the base radio/stereo(non touch screen)

I was wondering if an OEM touchscreen display screen from the 2010,2012-2015 models are compatible to the 2011. Plug and play?

If I were to buy the car, I was thinking about buying an OEM touch screen display from a 2012 Prius and putting it in the 2011. So I was just wondering if it was compatible.

I couldn't find a thread about this. If someone knows, please let me know!

    Thank you in advance.

It's gonna be much easier to swap an aftermarket stereo. Also the quality is much better. I did it a few weeks ago.

I can't comment on quality, but it's almost plug and play to swap to the 2012+ non JBL head unit (57031 if you want to search on ebay). The only modification is related to the antenna and there are adapters available to achieve the swap. There is one wire that you have to move between connectors. The beige wire going to pin 8 on the 10 pin connector needs to be disconnected (its the amplified antenna output) and it mutes the audio on the 2012 radio. You then connect this wire to the antenna adapter.

I did this about a year ago and really like the bluetooth addition. Also, if you get the USB cable that plugs in to the grey 4 pin connector for around $10 you get the USB thumb drive or iPod capability as well. I am very pleased with the iPod source sound quality.

There are threads that detail this swap, I used them to research before I did my swap.

    Hi Frank,
Thanks for info and the links, I am following the same path for the update to 2012+ unit
Had a couple of questions, would appreciate it if you could clarify the same

    1. The beige wire, does that connect to the single wire coming of the antenna adapter?
    2. What is the purpose of the beige wire, IMkenNY feels its the power supply for antenna amplifier ( +12 V)
and elsewhere which mentions its the amplified antenna out, could you please clarify,

    Many Thanks

    That is what I recall.

I believe that these are saying the same thing, amplified antenna out is short for output, which is +12V.

I'll comment on the quality...the Prius JBLs 2010 thru 2015 were crap. You would better serve your wallet and ears going full after market. The 2010-2011 Model II's are the easy.
