I talked to AVI from Hybridfix.com, he says to check the 2 harness connectors that go into the transaxle. Maybe something is not right with them. Good news is member Masta Sean has a set of engines and transaxle sitting around waiting for a buyer....

He has had a failure from a Camry hybrid with a similar overheat failure, that was from a transaxle fluid overfill.

Interesting how you can overfill the hybrid Camry transaxle, isn't it the same like the Prius? Drain and refill?

why would an overfill cause failure?
under fill I understand causing overheating .

This is straight from Avi. You know me, I'm a Prius guy, when he said Camry, it sounded like French to me.

Yeah, if the Hybrid Camry transaxle is the same as the Prius, there is no way to overfilling it and causing overheating. It'll probably cause erratic gear shifting.

I always figured when the fluid came out of the fill hole it was at the correct level.. I wish they had a dip stick

The rear axle on the RX450h is dead simple:). The drain and fill plugs are easily accessible. But the front axle on the other hand, I think I may have to pull the drivers front wheel to access to fill plug:confused:.

I'll be shelling out $15 soon for a weekend subscription to Toyota Tech Info to make sure(y).

"IF" I get my RX400h, it'll have upwards of 210k miles on it and has never been worked on.....except oil changes. Yikes! But the good part, it'll cost less than $3000.

Hope the battery is in decent condition. Or is that why the price is so low:whistle:?

Someone broke into my project turd gen car this weekend, broke a window to see what was inside. Didn't steal anything, just broke my window

Since I can't get it into my name, I listed it for sale as a mechanic special/parts car. Some shady dealer guy came and bought it, no questions asked. Hopefully nobody will come on here asking for help on the car...........
