I have this issue. It seems to happen whenever I use Siri to initiate the call.
iPhone 7 Plus on iOS 10.3.1 on Verizon. :( hope there's a fix soon

I used my iPad (you could use a different phone) to take a video of failure and provide to my local service manager. He said that Toyota has an engineer working on this now. Take your video to your local service manger.

I just talked to a Toyota Service Specialist about this issue. They called me after having reported this back in February! Good news is that he can recreate the issue.

All iPhone 7 users should report this problem to their dealership service manager and request that it be escalated.

There is a Toyota Service Bulletin TSB 0236-17 that is supposed to update the radio head for Premium and Advanced trim levels. It was released July 10, 2017. My contact tells me that this may improve the behavior of an iPhone 7 with a Prime.

GREAT news. I've tested TSB 0236-17 on my iPhone 7 with my Premium trim level Prius Prime. The failures I was having are gone now. This TSB applies to the radio (11" nav panel) for the Premium and Advanced trim level. There is a different TSB for the Plus model.

Jut to be clear, did you get this update via your data plan or is this a dealer install?

I had to replace my I-phone six because the prongs where you plug in the cord were worn out. Everything associated with the plug was real intermittent.

Also with the I phone plus you have to be careful not to have the I-phone supported by the plug when in the tray.

That is good news. Thanks for reporting this! While I don't have an iPhone, nor connect with a USB cable, it is something I can have my dealer do when I bring my Prime back in to get a few things fixed that are already broken or aren't right.

I still have this problem with our Prime Advanced and iPhone 6's. It happens both when using Siri to make a call, when using the voice control, or by manually dialing. Not sure which one triggers the problem first but after it fails it fails for all methods of making a call. FWIW, I have found that rebooting the touch screen (press and hold the audio off button) gets it working properly again. I must say that the whole phone connectivity and navigation is a real bummer on the Prime.

Not sure if it is iOS issue or not, but on my 3 days of experience on Prime Premium, iTouch (not the iPhone) music player connected via Bluetooth had very bad audio quality with many jumps. I didn't experience audio jump issue with my Windows phone. I will check later with my Android phone..

Don't want to hijack the thread, but you mention your Qi adapter. Assuming you're using it successfully, which one are you using? Trying to get a recommendation and messages threads are all over the place on this. Thanks.

Very bad connectivity issue with Apple products via USB with the Prime. iPhone 6, iPod nano, iPod Classic 30G and iPhone 7 all the same.

My iPod Nano works perfectly via USB. Never one issue.

Mine was good for like a month and started rolling down hill. It's gradual.
Maybe the Advanced trim is different

My iPhone 6/iOS 11 exhibits all sorts of strange behaviors, USB or Bluetooth. It sounds OK, streaming or or playing locally stored songs. But the on-screen controls often don't respond or don't respond the way they should. I also have a 2nd-gen iPod Shuffle - probably 8-10 years old at this point. It works fine via USB, including the on-screen controls. The only thing that doesn't work is display of track info. But I attribute that to the age of the device, rather than issues with the car's software.

I'm getting an iPhone 8 tomorrow - I'll report on that at some point this weekend.

My iPod NANO 5th gen displays the track info OK and is controllable.

Note: the album art will not show from ANY device unless the vehicle is in park WITH the parking brake on. Seriously retarded Toyota. What lawyer thought that one up.o_O

What is it with IOS and Bluetooth?

The whole point of Bluetooth is to be a universal spec so that all sorts of devices can talk to each other regardless of manufacturer.

I have had lots of Bluetooth devices over the years, some very cheap bargain basement ones. They all just worked. Without issue.

Not so with my wife's iPhone 5s running IOS 10.33 or her previous iPhone 4 running IOS 7. They won't talk to my Android phone, my Bluetooth audio streaming device, etc etc.

It won.t even pair properly with my Android phone. Basic stuff, complete fail.

There can be no excuse for this IMHO. The Bluetooth spec is out there it's public, and if you implement it properly it works. And has done for many years.

Except perhaps that Apple actually only want their devices to talk to other Apple devices?

(Why use micro usb on your phone like every other manufacturer does when you can have an Apple connector that works with nothing else but Apple cables!!)

Having the same issue with my Prime Advance and Iphone 6s. Incoming calls are fine, but outgoing calls used via Siri Eyes Free or voice command show the call initiated but no voice. Caller on the other end gets a call though.

Also noticed that navigation does not lower the radio volume. Is that standard or did I miss a setting somewhere.
