This ad works because it addresses the technology. So many of the 'cute' ads Toyota tried in the past were about everything but the technology. The Toyota ads did not explain in elementary terms what is going on.

Sad to say, I found this article: Toyota and The & Partnership Join Forces to Educate Europe on Hybrid

    Their example:

This is a travelog video, not a car ad. It does nothing to explain the technology, just pretty pictures of where anyone with a car can go to have a life. Talk about missing the boat!

Driving the Van gave me the feeling of when I first touched a prius. There's nothing like it and I have extreme joy for those first 39 miles of ev (my figures!) and extreme joy that when traveling far we get a respective 34 mpg. This is having the car full and a roof rack going on uneven roads over 400 miles away...

You have 39 miles of Rv on the 2010 Prius in your profile?
That must be a new record! :D

Your response led me to spell correct what my phone couldn't do......But no, the van is 39 miles of EV on average for us. The Prius 2010.....was uhm...maybe 1 mile if I was super slow? lol

Sorry. I see you list your vehicles in your signature. Unfortunately, your signature does not show up in my iPhone browser. :(
If I had seen your signature, I likely would have assumed the Prime.

Only three makes received the highest ranking from owners possible on CR's surveys. Two are Porsche and Tesla. The other is Chrysler.

The Pacifica is also a minivan. If Chrysler can get something right, it would be a minivan.

I'm only speaking from experience, perhaps they have improved quality, or perhaps, owners are more concerned with infotainment.

However, I can see challenger et al owners being pleased with their horsepower.

We have had Caravans of various years here at work, and they seem to hold up to the abuse.
If counted together, I think Caravan and Town&Country sales would have beaten Honda and Toyota. Those three companies were the main players in minivans for years, perhaps decades. Only Kia as a 'me too' is still in the segment.

Toyota makes the Greatest car's but the Worst Ads. They need a new ad company. I hope Chrysler hits a home run with the Pacifica but only time will tell.

Toyota also has the worst dealers, IMHO.

I guess we're lucky. Our Toyota dealer in Daytona has been very good to me. Tried to do business with a Chrysler dealer in a next door county and he was a robber LOL.

My local dealer is junk. My preferred salesman at a dealer 150 miles away is a Gen 1 Prius owner. The others there are not so good.

LOL Ohhhh Salespeople are a different story! I was thinking service wise. The best salesperson I had was in 2010 when I got my first Gen3. He said well...... you know the car better than me. Here's what we have and what's coming in on the ship, you just tell me which one you want and I'll get you a price. I picked one coming in on the ship a few days out, he gave me a good price and I was in and out of there in a half an hour.

My local sales guy insisted Trim Twp Prius only have black interior.
I guess he did not read the brochure or look too closely. Training? what's that?

The sales market in the auto industry can be disrupted. I think Tesla has (is) doing/done that. Many sales people are just uneducated beyond an ICE engine.

I think the Plugin Van works in the fact the engine is already improved, but now it's not even used as much. So if T&Cs last reliably over 100,000 then it's possible the Pacifica Hybrid could be 200,000+ due to less wear on the engine.

The Toyota dealership I bought my car from has been great with service - professional, courteous, explained stuff when needed. The saleslady I bought my Prius from was friendly, but had some information wrong. For instance, she said Toyota had never had to replace a traction battery, which is obviously wrong. And when I couldn't immediately find a spare tire, she said there wasn't one (actually it was under the subfloor). I also ended up getting one key for my car and one key for a 2010 Prius. This error was fixed later, when they gave me the correct 2nd key for my car and I returned the 2010 key.

So sales knowledge wasn't great, but considering I see a salesperson once every few years and I see the service people every few months, having good service is better.

Have you posted a personal experience/thoughts with it yet? If not, please do. Not asking for a detailed review full of facts and figures, there are plenty of those out on the internets.
