If it looks like that in the morning after letting it sit overnight I'd say you should bleed it down to the dimple. That last image has oil looking like and overfill. Your first image was acceptable but this does not in my opinion. Then again, until recently when I always, put mine about 1/8 below the dimple on oil change. Now that it is burning oil I try and keep at full and check every 500 miles and if needed top it off adding a very small amount - checking it - adding more - and repeat until topped.

I always wondered if i were to adjust my oil level down using drain plug whether the crush ring should be replaced. If so, the ciphen through the dipstick hole would be the way I'd go. You wouldn't want to completely pull the plug to install a new crush ring.

Interesting, THanks for the replies Bisco and SAS.

Ill look over everything if i take it to a jiffy lube style place. Reason I say this is the next oil change which ill probably have to do will be in the dead of winter and ill need to get a tire rotation eitherway. Run that for the 5k miles needed and then switch out and do it myself again. Will review the oil before I drive off.

Luckily the main situation was taken care of, so all that is left now is to not mess up again and watch the oil guage.

I go to jiffy once in a while. I bring them 3.5 quarts of oil. They always say the same thing this car takes 5 quarts...I always say well thats nice were putting in 3.5 today. next morning check it again before I start the car. thats the only way to check it as it has a pretty good size oil vane on the cam for the vvt and its oil filter galley for the vvt so alot of oil upstairs takes a long time for it all to drip back into the pan.
Buy a 5 quart jug of Mobil 10-30 for $25 at Wally's and drain off 1.5 quarts. Bring them that jug. Bring empty jug back home for the times you change your own oil.

Did you mean the dip stick? The Gen2 Prius lacks any dedicated "oil gauge."
