    I wasn't planning to watch the game but came across around inning six and throughly enjoyed it. The bats were hot and saw the game go from 8 to 8 to eventually 13 to 12 in overtime. Talk about two equally pair teams, I also got the impression of equally fatigued too.

    why bob, i had no idea you were a sports fan. it is being heralded as one of the great series. i was routing for houston, but after gurriel's racist display, i've lost interest.

    In the past, someone else would have started a series thread. In my case, I assumed the Dodgers would have won in record time, four games, but the Astros are not lying down. It was a happy accident, channel surfing, my wife and I came in at the 6th inning and it didn't take long for us to be entranced.

    This doesn't mean the remaining game or two (best of seven games for our international friends) will be as interesting. I have long suspected non-baseball folks have as much interest in our game as baseball fans have in 'football' (i.e., soccer.)

    Football (as opposed to American football) can be quite entertaining, especially if you attend a game or watch at a sports bar. Some of the Univision announcers are really exuberant.

    Astros got one man on base but he was thrown out at second. Dodgers, nothing.

    Astros are getting hits, caught and thrown out, but hits are the first step towards a run. Dodgers, finally showing a couple of hits but still trailing Astros.

    Single, home run Astros. Dodgers still having hitting problem.

    Fourth inning: 1 - 0 (Dodgers)

    <YAWN>

    Fifth inning: 1 - 0

    Astros three on base but changing the Dodger pitcher retired the side.

    VW shows the MicroBus that they still have NOT brought back to market ... jerks!

    Sixth inning: 1 - 2 (Dodgers)

    Astros line drive caught retired two on base. Dodgers base hit became a double and run. Sacrifice fly (close to home run), and Dodgers up one run.

    Crappy Queen Camry commercial again.

    Unworldly nature of this championship has often been noted. Yet no one has proposed a non-MLB baseball with a possibility of beating either of these teams. Non-US baseball talent follows the money and that, as they say, is that.

    A World Series of Soccer could do very well without inviting a US team for the same reason.

    Final game begins. Darvish pitching to Gurriel promises to be a moment of sorts.

    agreed, rooting for darvish (took the high road) and houston (shouldn't be punished for one nut job)

    I agree with Gurriel's lawyer - back home in Cuba, people call each other "Chinito" and Negrito" without bad implications. Same in Puerto Rico for those who don't know.

    But this is the Big Leagues and cameras don't miss much. Gotta leave that kid stuff behind.

    Houston the city has had a rough time and many Dodger fans will not be despondent if things go that way. This Series has provided many memorable moments and what more could be asked?

    personally, i believe that a whole country being racist doesn't make it right. we can leave that to a certain u,s, leader.
