I don't think its everything one has to keep replacing completely as you've suggested. There are occasions that repairs are needed, and not just always replacing!!!
I did a similar Prius overhaul in lagos, rebuilding the 1NZ engine, and even using a Yaris/echo pistons. The car is still racking the go! Maybe, the fastest route would have being to buy a new engine?:D

You're very right on the mechanic, or some not wanting to rebuild an engine, because of the aforementioned reasons.

That flywheel was the first day I saw one on a 2008 Prius I overhauled some months ago. It looked like a pressure plate on a manual transmission's car.

I really also don't understand y people should lower the engine via lifting the front up.

When did the 2008 Prius, we only had to remove the crank pulley, water pump, and remove all the mounting bolts on yhr transmission system. That gave us more space to shift the engine from the transmission, and towards the right fender side(this was because we had removed the crank pulley already).

The 1.5L engine isn't that heavy, so we had to use our physical strength to lift just the engine out, and all that(notice, at the time of engine removal, we had no access to hoisting chain).

In my case, we removed the engine completely without removing the head first. Same thing with replacing it back.

PS: we removed the hood, and the cowl to have access to the exhaust manifold at the rear.

You count from the passenger side.
So, number one, would be the one by the passenger side(crank pulley area)

..and to add to all you've said, the timing chain cover, that houses the oil pump, should not be dipped in any solvent(petrol, etc), to wash em up. That would cause a whole lot of noises when starting up the car, because of the lack of lubrication oil. If you must wash the oil pump, you must ensure fresh oil was used manually to rotate the impeller on the oil pump, in order to reduce that knocking kind of sound you'd hear when the engine is READIED.

You must be a wizard sir! Doing the drone thing? How you manage your time? You design those yourself, or just buy em, and tear them apart?

2011 prius owners manual page 440, all newer cars manuals state this to cover their butts for mass produced products. Just like all new cars make slightly more or less hp/mpg as stated by the manufacturers. I do not know what break in procedure toyota uses but I know it is a trade secret between motor builders to manufacturers. I am not sure what you wanted me to reference exactly? IMG_0208.JPG

I actually design the frames I fly now and have a cnc and 3d printer. I cut the carbon fiber underwater so there is zero dust. I buy the motors and all the components solder it up and then tune them on a computer to get it to fly the way I want. I am a better pilot since that video you just saw. I was tired of all the frames I bought that just kept breaking. I designed a better one that I have yet to break.
This video shows me slamming into some very hard surfaces. I broke a bunch of props and a motor that day:) and had a lot of fun.
Being organized helps with finding time to do these types of things. If you want something bad enough, you will find a way.

I will not quit, I will not fail.

I like that quote: "I will not quite, I'd not fail". Same mental set with me. I'd rather do things differently from the stated norm, than accept what people say, it isn't possible, and hasn't being done.

What kind of " drones " do you make for flying, and any spec?

I fly Multigp 4s 5" race class. It is the most popular right now and has the largest variety of props, batteries, motors etc.
One of the fastest pilots in the world nytfury quit his job sold his supra, flies 100 packs a day and owns a prius! < not off topic because prius!

@Mendel Leisk i know you're good at pulling out the rigght diagram now something else came on my mind. Do a comparison of egr cooler and pcv valve location with a totally diferent hibreed loke rav4 or that other lexus i think ls300. These cars have a diferent bigger size engine. rav4 hybreed is higher and was introduced after 2011. @danlatu or anyone else?

Actually, the 2018 Camry Hybrid would be interesting with the larger Gen 4 engine.
