    Hi everyone.
    I have a 2007 base Prius with 220,000 miles.
Last night as I pulled into the driveway, I hit something and then found this in the driveway.
Any idea what it is, and do I need to reinstall it, Prius A.jpg Prius B.jpg Prius A.jpg Prius B.jpg and where ?

It's about 2' long and almost a foot wide.

I know it covers something, but, without a lift ( and in 30 degree weather ) I don't want to crawl under the car to find out.

    Thank you !
    Dom

looks like the front corner of the underneath aero cover, or maybe an inside fender liner? it doesn't absolutely have to be reinstalled, but i would. you also want to make sure more of it isn't coming undone.

I think it should be one of the underneath covers front of the engine, or the fender side protector.

But my crux is that if it were the side fender protector, there should have being some dirty trapped on it.

You'll likely have to do some looking, with a good light. Throw down a carpet scrap to lie on, you might get lucky? It more'n likely has a corresponding piece on the opposite side, will help to figure it out.

If it's right at the front you'll likely be able to fix without raising.

I took a look under my 2008 prius and didn't immediately see anything that matched.
BUT, there are a lot of those types of plastic pieces lining the underside. I didn't jack the car up or anything so it wasn't a thorough look.
If it actually came from your car, I would think you would see a place where something of that shape was missing.
Is it also possible it was left in your driveway by some other vehicle?
Could this be the something you hit?

    Yeah might be.

From the pictures, it looks like it would be right at the lower edge of a bumper, wrapping around the corner, and accordingly if it was missing from your car would be easy to spot. Maybe some delivery van lost it??

If body parts are falling off it means the undercarriage has taken a beating. See if the cover that’s under the condenser/radiator is intact that’s a very important cover as it protects the ac condenser from damage from road debris. The Prius sits very low and will pick up every pebble without that cover.
Condenser fails no ac very $$$$$$$.

Thank you all. If it's halfway nice out tomorrow, I'll jack it up and look.

I know I didn't drag it from somewhere, and I don't think I ran over it or it would have made a racket since the car is pretty low. It also probably wasn't from another vehicle or I would have heard it when I ran over it.
I'm pretty sure it couldn't have come from the front. Again, I would have
    heard it.

So, the back bumper sounds logical. And it was on the right side.

I had the oil changed today and asked them to take a look.
Do you think they did. But, they told me I need an alignment soon.

Thank you all for your suggestions. Tomorrow will tell. I hope.

It may be rear side spoiler.

OP should be able to easily verify if it is one of the rear spoilers as they are visible by look at the rear of the vehicle. But I'm with JC, that's what it is. Your oil changer's if they looked, probably never looked at the rear of the vehicle. These spoiler are part of the aero package for the car. I'd find a way to reattach it if it were mine.

I looked at the rear of the car yesterday. It is the rear left spoiler. The wing on the right is clearly visible. The on on the left is missing. I am going to try to reattach it. When it's a little warmer out. I don't do cold. lol

    Thank you.

Thank you all for your insight and advice.
It's the piece at the back of of the car, just before the bumper, with the wing that sticks out on the side a little.

3rd gen has something similar. It tends to be a real grit/water collector, all the screws holding it on are rusty as heck.
