Am at 200,000 miles on my '07 and am taking my car in to have
    the speedometer display replaced.
The car was new to me at 130,000 miles and had dealer service until that point.
I have only done the oil and filter every 5k and would like some direction on what
other services I should have performed.

Why are you replacing the speedometer?

    1. Transaxle fluid change
    2. Coolant change
    3. Brake inspection

Don't fix it unless it's broken

The speedometer went out along with the associated information.
We live in the foothills below Yosemite about an hour from anywhere so our vehicles must be reliable. Losing the fuel gauge and odometer is a safety issue for us. Not much traffic out here in the winter and cel coverage is spotty. This is our first venture into cars, all the other vehicles are pickups.
Any other thoughts for maintenance items to have checked or be aware of would be appreciated.
