Hello, I am in the process of purchasing my vehicle. The dealer quoted me a pretty low priced thanks to a fellow member here! I also asked him if it was possible to add the student grad program on top of the deal and initially (yesterday) they said that they could if I could provide proof of graduation. Today, they told me they could no longer do it due to the already low priced offered, HOWEVER, they said that they would install a remote start on the vehicle instead of applying the grad program $750 off. I was thinking, don't the prius prime come standard with remote start on all models? I could have sworn thats a button on the keyfob on all models. Let me know your thoughts.

    Thanks

yes, you can heat or cool using the heat pump. tbh, remote start isn't much of an advantage, unless you want to warm up the engine.

My son specifically got remote start on his Prius v. Some dog agility matches are outdoors in the summer and he wanted to have the car locked but in ready with the air conditioning running to cool the dogs inside. In his case, factory remote start was less expensive than port installed remote start.

yes, it can be helpful in some models, but prime already has it.

Sounds like they are trying to rip you off (over charging for an addition that you don't need, then pocketing the difference from your recent grad discount). Which stealership + sales person is this? (so we can all avoid)

Is there another dealership to also visit and see what they're willing to do? Shop around.
