Beeping outside of rear car

    I have a 2010 prius. I love it and has been fantastic. I have no warning lights or any issues with the car. However, today when my car was off there was a beeping noise coming from outside of the car. I can't find exactly where it is coming from. But it is most audible from under the rear of the car. I know it is coming from outside. I can't hear anything inside. It's not as loud as the lock unlock beep. It is very faint. Has anyone else had this issue or know what it is?

    not that i recall. any aftermarket items on the car? how long have you owned it?

    Nothing aftermarket I have owned it for the last 2 and half years and 60,000 miles.

    There was a similar thread a while ago, except instead of beeping, it was a blue flashing light coming from the rear underside of the car.

    I can't recall what the outcome was, but it might've been a gps tracking device placed on the underside of the car. :eek:

    Do you have a mirror that you can use to view the underside of your car? ;)

    Yes, that user suspected a tracking device but we never got a definitive answer.
