So after the miserable two flats in the first 4500 miles, things settled down with my Ecopia Bridgestone tires until last night when, on our way to a concert, we got a third flat on the same set of tires. Enough. Filled it full of goo and headed back home. Called a local dealer this morning and got four Michelin Defenders installed. One might say it was a fluke of probability but I will not ever drive another new car off a lot with Bridgestone tires. Three flats in 11,000 miles is enough to get my attention.

Other than those damn tires, I am a happy Prime owner.

Driving by construction sites? Michelin are not impervious, I can attest to that, lol

    Good call.

  4. Yikes! Wow, for a split second reading your story, I guess I am glad that my car came with the Toyo Nanocrappers...

Without taking note of, and telling us, WHY the tires went flat, this post is worthless.

For instance, you can't blame the tires for picking up nails or similar puncture hazards.

I agree. Not the fault of the tires. A nail is going to go through any tire. I wore out a set of Bridgestone EP20s without getting a flat.

I had three sets of Ecopias on my 2004 Prius and never had a single problem of any sort.

Conversely, the Ecopias solved all my Toyo Proxes flat tire problems that I had with my Gen3 Prius.

I trust the OP bought the puncture proof Michelins.

I guess I am the outlier as far as my experience with the Bridgestone tires, based on the few people on here that think I am nuts, but, as the saying goes, your mileage may vary. I am 67 years old and have driven on Michelin tires for about 30 of those years with exactly two punctures. Now, after less than a year, I have had three flats (two punctures and one undetermined cause) on these Bridgestone tires. Either I have been remarkably lucky with my Michelins, or just off-the-hook unlucky with the Bridgestone tires. A nail is a nail is a nail. I will grant you that. Still, with no spare tire, I have opted for the tires that have that remarkable luck in them for me. I decided against the eco tires because I suspect that they are a bit more flimsy than standard tires. That may be nuts, too. Who knows? As Pete Seeger once said, "It's difference of opinion that makes horse races." Peace.

You are free to be as "nuts" as you care to be.
The problem is: Advertising it to the whole world with a post like you made.

Let's knock off the open hostility and practice not saying anything if you can't be nice. And I say that as nicely as I can.

We happily accommodate long threads about tulips and oranges...Discussions about random nails hitting tires are certainly within bounds.

It wasn't intended to be hostile.
It WAS intended to be a joke.......mostly.

SOME of us need to chill a bit.

P.S. Editing quotes to take some lines out of context and make the comment appear to be something that is was NOT is not "nice" either.
