My son would love this, I on the other hand would find it as a surprise to my palette and be rid of it, cloaca-wise

Anyway, is 200 miles a lot of range for an electric car? Or just average.

On one of my rides the electric heater was on and that rapidly discharged the battery. EVers know that already of course.

Too much hot chili irritates the mouth. Persist, and the irritation is felt later, upon departure.

Really persist, and you get capsaicin in bloodstream. This is very memorable. Not in a good way.

Hence the glorious British-English phrase "arse like the Japanese flag".

Do you develop a Sichuan accent?

It's a lot. The old Nissan Leaf was about 80 miles, I think, and the new one is about 250 miles. There's someone on our street who gets regular visits from someone in a Tesla on Canberra licence plates (oooh, I've tied this in to another topic on the thread!), and we're right at the edge of its 200ish-mile range.

There's a billboard advert for a Chinese EV (can't remember which one) at Beijing South Railway Station that tells you you can drive to Tianjin and back (a 150-mile round trip) on a single charge, and this is a selling point. (I suspect the car isn't as fast as the 190mph train, mind you.)

Realize that several bodily fluids (if not all) are derived from blood. To set aside certain examples, tears enter a positive-feedback mode.

Ouch. I did once adjust a contact lens after chopping chilli when cooking 宫保鸡丁 for more than 100 people. That was not a good thing.

In at least two forms, yes. As I recall, one version included contra and the other didn’t. Fits pretty well! 好合适的!

I think I’ve had this before. It struck me as pretty good!

My wife would hate to though; her doctor (中医) tells her not to it spicy food.

In all of this discussion, of course, you have to be very cautious of the 200-mile number. US EPA estimates are fairly plausible, but many others are ... kinda fantasy!

It is a very fine thing.

Your wife's doctor is being cruel to her by depriving her of it. Also, "Don't eat spicy food" is every 中医's solution to every disease. Got diahorrea? Don't eat spicy food. Got constipation? Don't eat spicy food. Been run over? Don't eat spicy food. Lost a leg in a chainsaw accident? Don't eat spicy food.

Mind you, there are plenty of really good North-Eastern dishes that are not spicy. I like that thing with the cup-shaped mantou that you spoon the eggplant*-and-stuff mix into. I forget what it's called.

Spicy food is fine in my book...

哈尔滨 (AKA Harbin), where my wife is from, also has interesting culinary (and architectural) influences from Russia. She cooks almost as much Russian-inspired food as Chinese! Plus of course, fusions of the two, along with various Texas influences...
