After an hour of searching, I havent found the solution I need.
The sks functions fine. Proximity unlock works, black buttons on the door handles work, the car starts with the key in my pocket. The issue is the lock, unlock, and panic buttons dont work. I've replaced the battery in the fob and the red light flashes. The buttons aren't stuck or jammed. Ive also replaced the 12V battery and it's fully charged.
    Any ideas, folks?

    Welcome to PC.

Did this just start happening? Or did you just get the car and it came like this? I don't think I've heard of this before. I wonder if someone programmed it and didn't get it quite right. I've never had to do this.

I just thought of another question that might help. You you have the second fob and does it work as it should?

We bought the car used with just one fob. It was like this when I bought it, so no clue how long it's been doing this.

Bummer. Sounds like you'll need help from the dealer, but maybe someone here knows more. There's a lot of Prius knowledge hanging around here. Hope you get it sorted out. And once you do, a second fob is good insurance. If you lose both fobs and have to start from scratch, it's really expensive.

    Edit to add:
There are other places that specialize in Prius, but not knowing where you live other than the United States, it's hard to offer suggestions.

Yes that’s not common. Rfd part is working but buttons not commanding and you see the red light on the fob flash.

Let’s see what’s been going on with this car.

Go to this online forum: Toyota.com/owners

Join that forum and go get your insurance card as it’s going to want the VIN off the car. When you join it will show the results of every time the car has been in an authorized Toyota service center anywhere in the US. You may see why the car was sold. See if this issue was a complaint.

In the meantime go on eBay and buy a new fob you need one with a silver face like the one you have.
If yours Needs a programming might as well have another done same time.

You must have 2 fobs. You lose one fob and dont have another you are screwed and new fob and immobilizer ecu is very very expensive.Besides your existing remote is scary it may fail completely.

    Ps

There’s another guy on the forum who lost his one and only fob. In the middle of it and at the dealers mercy.

    And they have none.

    Might want to follow it.
