Ahoy. This is my first time driving a Prius (save for the test drive a week ago)... I had a 00 Echo some years ago and very much liked that little clowny-looking car.

Mine is a 2010 hybrid and I have a few questions:
    • How can I view the odometer/trip? My dash only shows the mpg and gear.
    • Is there a way to turn off the engine (? is this even applicable), but leave the radio on? or do I just leave the car on in Eco mode, because the engine automatically stops running?
    • Where is the trunk release from inside up front?
    Thanks guys.

Yeah, when you're in the "Hybrid Synergy Indicator" display, this one:

I believe each quick press of the trip button on the steering wheel cycles the info displayed along the bottom. Note, a sustained press of the trip button resets the current trip meter, zeros it.

Also, to cycle through all the displays, including the HSI display, quick presses of the display button on steering wheel.

If you push the start button without foot on the brake, that'll put the car in "accessory mode", the listen to the radio without the car running mode. Still, I would reserve that for only when necessity, and as you say, if you're just sitting the car listening to radio, have the car fully on. Better yet, just don't, when you're not going anywhere, shut the car right off. Radio: fugedaboutit, lol.

Bottom line: it's a puny battery, doesn't handle that situation well.

    There isn't one.

There is not one "up front" but there is a release inside the trunk area inside a small plastic cover. If you ever disconnect your rear mounted 12v battery and then accidentally close the hatch, you get to find out like I did, how you get to lay the back seats flat and crawl in over them to the trunk with a flash light to pop the trunk.
