everyone! Please I need some advice from those who have owned Prius prime, or plugins.

I would ha e gone for a gen2, but it seems most PC members here have sung a lot of praises of the Prium.

I'm considering ordering either a used Prius prime,.or plugins (I don't know whether they're the same though), from the USA, and would want some advice from you guys or suggestions on how the car handles, MPGs, and all that.

We mostly use an ac 220V, 50Htz in Nigeria. Is it possible to charge the Prius with a 220V AC voltage off the grid, or it got to be 110V?

Any big advantage owning the Prius prime than a gen3?

What do I have to watch out for, when I get the car over here in a tropical environment like Nigeria?

    Thanks for your helps

If bringing one in from North America, you'll need a different EVSE cable for charging. The one we get only works on 120V circuits. Not sure if the difference in frequency is important. I would think not, but don't know.

The HV mode fuel economy with a Prime is a couple mpg better than the regular Gen 4, but I don't know that it would be worth the added expense in your situation. Another thing to factor in is the quality and cost of your electricity.

Cost of electricity isn't a problem here. Would take care of that.

I heard there are EVSE that are compatible to 220V sold online. Or, if its possible to modify it to 220V.

I just bought a 240V EVSE from Ebay. There are quite a few available there. But I didn't see anything about 50hz or 60 hz. And our 240v system has both legs hot. European, iirc, has a hot and a neutral. That's another thing to investigate.

i think you need to verify that the chargers are the same. if so, finding the correct evse is easy.
