Could it at the least reduce the EGR clog rate, less oil going into combustion chamber.

The egr will continue to accumulate carbon deposits from gas/oil (less oil/carbon with catch can installed) being burned in the combustion chamber coming from intake manifold/pcv. I do not know of an oil catch can that can eliminate 100% of the oil vapor/mist. I do not know of any system that can clean an egr cooler/system. I would not dwell on this much longer.
I do not know of any solution to having a clean egr system..... Oh wait. Kill the combustion fossil fueled engines!!!

Electric cars are going to be the new hotness in the next couple of years. All the auto manufacturers are spending billions as we speak with 100% electric for the future. The battery technology is now here.

Can someone here give me 200k$ for this!

When I saw the Michelin sport cup 2 tires on it. I had to change my pants because I knew it was fast before I saw the specs.

Hello to all from Houston, TX.
After 15k driving here is the picture of oil catch can. I can’t believe my own eyes. It was almost full. Check out the picture.
Going forward I will clean the can every 10k or so. I am using Mobil 1 high mileage synthetic oil which is 15k rated.
Thanks again guys who helped me to do all this work and since then my car is running without any knock.

Wow! I'll try to remember to post what I find at the spring oil change. That'll only be 5K kms at most though.

Holy crap. Do you do a lot of freeway 75mph + freeway driving. I check and dump mine every 5k. I do a mix of city and freeway.

I drive mix same like you. 2000 miles a week. Checked my oil changed log and found out the interval was 12k. I think that’s a lot of oil on the OCC.

Strange. Seems like 1 qt of oil there. So how much oil was missing by observing the dipstick level check.
It does make scence though that about 15% of that fluid is oil. I cant believe its more than that.or else the IM will be flooded and top off the throttle passages.

Now that winter has arrived, I've been needing to empty the OCC much more often lately. It fills up every week. Just this week we've had a cold snap where the temps in the morning were under 0* F. I heard some startup knock that lasted for a second or two. Sure enough - with almost a weeks worth, the can was near full. And after emptying - no more startup knock.

We've had outside temps between -9* and 32*F and I do lots of short trips. My trip to work is 3 miles one way. Once a week I'll take it for a joy ride around town to help remove the condensation.

And this is condensation or a lot of oil? What’s the reading on the dipstick?

It's a ton of condensation and smells like fuel with a little oil mixed in. The dipstick still reads full

While not as cold out here, I guess I’ll have to check it out soon;).

    Thanks for the tip(y).

That seems odd. I have a strong hunch mine is filling nowhere near that fast, but time will tell. I'm going to leave it to the spring oil change to check, famous last words...

I see you have removed the air intake ;).

That’s not something I can have out here:(.

But I mounted it on the cross member as it is the lowest point and away from the hot engine block so the PCV valve will still function as designed and the lights don’t flash back into the intake:).

I’ll check ours out soon and see if there is any accumulation (y).
