Dead 2007 Prius

    You should never expect to sell a car for a decent price in Florida. This is where folks come to live out the rest of their lives then their cars hit the market. Florida, being a peninsula for the most part only has one escape route for used cars, straight north. End result is more cars than buyers. I used to take Florida cars north on a regular basis. I just may indeed be interested in your Prius. Northern states where the roads get salted eat up cars and a rust free Florida car is very appealing.

    I suspected as much. His pics do show identical construction as your batteries. Could it be that your Chinese supplier is not so loyal?

    I also couldn't help noticing that your thread also shows cell packs in blue and grey as does the ebayer. Is that an earlier rendition? Could he be using photos from you as well as verbage? This all points to an ebay scam.

    I know the business I ran cars from Florida to NY for years..so at this price you get a car to resell at a profit and the battery to fix yours.. when can I expect you here with the cash???????

    sent..... cant see it in the pictures but the clear coat is peeling on the roof and some other spots.. florida sunburn

    There's a lot more detail in the tens of pages of the other thread. Basically I bought a CEBA kit, the kit in the pictures for sale on eBay. Loved the idea of the plastics and mechanics, batteries sucked, execution in general could be improved. Had my own battery factory contact make me cells, the red ones. Contacted CEBA and we now work together. Together we improved their kit plastics to have the individual end snaps instead of the long orange bars. The deal is, we do the work together, you can sell to whoever but also to me, and I don't pay moulding costs or NRE on all the plastic bits. And that's what they do. Currently their kits have the improved plastic just like mine. The cells they use haven't changed because they have nothing to do with my batteries.

    I know they stole verbiage, I wrote it. Pictures I think are standard CEBA pictures but I haven't gone through it much.

    And my original batteries were the same colour because when I told my factory to "copy this" except with these specs, etc they literally pulled a China and copied it down to the reprinted serial number ontop. Humorous at least.

    Yep, oh well. Hopefully whoever buys will investigate the claims properly. This isn't like a knockoff handbag where you need some uncommon knowledge to spot the fake. One is bright red, the other isn't.

    If it sounds too good to be true then it probably is.
