I might suggest that since your new car does not come with a spare, you might consider getting a doughnut spare to put in the car since you are driving a lot in a sparcley populated area. There are posts here about fitting a spare in an eco....

Up Date on my new Red 2017 Eco-

My salesman at Molle Toyota KCMO, Randy Stendebach, sent me this pix last nite with message "Ready to go".

I have moved delivery back to 1/5/2018 due to my current insurance policy renew date and fact I am adding a new car - getting all my cars on same policy starting same day will save me $120 over the next 3 years. This also make it easier on Molle to schedule. I hate waiting that extra 3 days but not worth $120 to me.

As to Molle and the crew I have dealt with, Beth Andrew, Randy Stendebach, & Bill Hearder - they have all been stand-up and honest good folks. I can give them all a 5 STAR review. I plan on going by to meet them sometime I am in KCMO.

I give Molle my highest recommendation.

    Nice looking car!
Red was one color I was looking at before I got my white one.

Thank you - Thats funny- I started out planning on a white one, lower upkeep with washing, detailing, etc. - but I just fell in love with this Red when I saw it (on line only).

Congrats on your new Toy. There is something about a car on the showroom floor that just grabs you.

I bought two new cars that were on the showroom floor, the last one was my 2016 four. It was still new last month on the showroom floor.

Thanx Padoo -I could not agree more... I almost drove to KCMO to see/drive it, but it is 500 mi. round trip. . .This is the first car I have ever bought 'sight unseen'. But I got a great deal and the folks at Molle in KCMO have been great.

Depends how deep the snow is. :ROFLMAO:
I saw a red one first. I road tested a red one. I got myself a RED one!!!
Great picture from Terry Lee. The thing about cars in showrooms is the car is preened, polished and illuminated just so! Hard to beat that outside when you're in UK.

    . . . LOL on the snow.

What does fuel cost you there in the UK?
    --------------------
Here in Oklahoma I am paying:
    100% Pure Gasoline- Premium 91 Octane = $3.00/US Gal.
    """"""""""""""""""""""""""- Regular 87 Octane =$2.50 """"""""""
    Ethanol 10%-15%------Regular Btw.$2.00-$2.10 """""""""".
I can't remember the Octane on Ethanol Blends as I NEVER buy them-always 100% Pure Gasoline for me...

We did similar, albeit with 3rd gen silver: bought the one we test drove. It felt really planted with the 17" setup, love at first sight, lol.

Sorry so long replying...Just saw this post.
That is exactly what I am planning to do.
Molle, where I am buying it Parts Dept. Quoted something like $350 for Donut Spare wheel & tire.
I thought I would shop that around, or maybe find one at a Junk Yard.

I did a search for this and got zero returns- any idea where I can find posts about this??

Thanx in advance for any help...

Ok, tried a little pretend shopping:

The temp spare rim for 2017 Prius, level 2, is $71 here (McGeorge Toyota):

Wheel, Spare - Toyota (42611-47630) | Toyota Parts

Then if I look in the pdf of the Owner's Manual, I get this spec:

    upload_2018-1-1_13-44-50.png

Over to TireRack, I find this for $84:

    https://www.tirerack.com/tires/tires.jsp?tireMake=Yokohama&tireModel=Y870C&partnum=27MD7YOTEMP

So far, $71 plus $84 comes to $155, say $200 with shipping. And maybe $20 to have a tire shop mount/balance?

    Mendel-Thank you !

I am going to call dealer tomorrow and see if they will negotiate their price.
I will offer them $150-$175 to get it mounted, balanced with Zero S+H since they can just put in car when they deliver it.

That would be most convenient for me + I have a spare from day one.

Thanx again Mendel for looking all of this up for me...

I doubt they would match an online price, especially without the shipping and handling. I wouldn't if I was them, there's no advantage.

Their strength (at least in my eyes) is that they're offering one-stop shopping, less hassle, they assume all the risks/liability, for getting the order right. But maybe they'll come down a bit. Personally I would just go the online route, as long as the shipping charges were per my guesstimate. If the dealership was within $50, I'd tip towards using them, for the aforementioned one-stop-shopping.

OTOH, lol: maybe they're motivated to make the car sale?

OTOH: why not just get a level with the spare? Getting the spare after the fact, you still have a bit of a mess, you don't have the hatch components to stow it below deck.

OTOH: I guess the model sans spare is a done deal?

It should be less expensive to get a Two that already has a spare tire. What features of the Eco attract you to it?I would not place a lot of value in the minimally higher mpg specification. The higher tire pressures and different driving style could easily reduce those differences. The Eco is lighter without the spare, inching the numbers higher too.

There is a small gas price war on at the supermarkets here just now and one of them is selling regular (95RON) at £1.12/ltr. Other places for big- brand GA run to as much as £1.25/ltr and the motorways (like your Interstate) £1.35/ltr. Haven't worked out what that is in US$/gallon.... brain's still struggling out of yesterday for another coffee or two!

Tho' not Cornish by birth myself, most countries around the world have some Cornish ancestry, often from their mining heritage.
