That stuff's gonna include all 3 of those, mostly water in winter. In summer more of the water will pass through as vapor.

I included a stl file on thingiverse for those that do not have the ground bracket located on the inverter. Happy New Year.

So, i took first step and ordered OCC from ebay.co.uk : Item ID: 322915902128.
    ebayOCC.JPG
Tried to order these ones what you guys use from amazon, but yeah no shipping to Finland :S

Went ahead also and asked local toyota dealer price of this short tube (so i would not need to destroy only one i have):
    pipe.JPG
Tube from internet would be around 40€ with shipping so i will see what kind a price local dealer gives.

Lets see when i get things installed, i promise to take photos!
Also plan is to buy real oil/fuel line and not use that clear pipe what comes with OCC.

Huge thanks to @danlatu for sharing files for bracket. Just ordered both ones done with ABS from 3DHubs and picking those up tomorrow or day next for 3,60€.

I didn't really have to, but due to the two different hose ending diameters (3/8" at PCV valve end, and ~3/4" at intake manifold end) I finally opted to cut that hose at the middle, leave it connected (albeit rotated down, towards my OCC) and connect splices to it, the hardware store pieces that look like this:

    upload_2018-1-2_5-59-7.png

The one thing I see: if I ever want to remove the OCC, say when trading in the car, I can restore it to stock by simpling using one of the above pieces, to restore the cut hose to it's original function, just with an extra splice piece in it, hardly noticeable though.

I wonder if putting the catch can lower than the engine isn’t causing it to fill too quickly? The PCV is routed upwards, not downwards, and putting the catch can low could be draining the crankcase into the can?

The PCV is high enough to be out of normal oil levels.

Now oil vapors that don’t condense in the crank case are what is carried over and then get to the intake.

The catch can is just a wide spot in the line ;).

I put ours below the PCV to prevent the condensing vapors from collecting against the Discharge of the PCV exhaust, instead collecting in the can:).

I also put steel wool in the can to also make it harder for th vapors to get through the can, increasing what collects there versus in the intake;).

It may be harder for me to access, but should be more effective (y).

The pcv valve is a check valve. It will feed the oil catch can because of vacuum. The oil in the crankcase sits lower than the pcv valve. I believe it will fill the occ at the same rate wether it is mounted high or low. I mounted mine in an easy to dump location because in the winter time it needs to be dumped weekly. I drove 140 miles in two days (fri/tues).

The stock pcv hose runs more or less horizontal I think. Either way, I think @danlatu 's got it: it doesn't really matter if the the OCC is higher or lower. Still, I'd like to think there's a slight advantage to having it lower, as far as trapping the airborne droplets. It does make for easier plumbing, and there's lots of room below.

Lots of room is a relative term:whistle:.

But enough room to make it work(y).

Got reply from dealer. Not bad, new PCV tube costs 12,20€ so ordered it.
Easier also to build OCC pack completely ready and find good fittings etc without need to take anything away from car until installation.

What's frustrating: the only stumbling block I found when hooking the up the hoses: the pcv end requires 3/8" Inside Diameter hose, the Oil Catch Can also requires 3/8" ID hose, everything is the same, until you get to the spigot on the intake manifold, which is something like 3/4" ID hose required. I just couldn't find an 3/8" to 3/4" adapter, and the quick/expedient solution was to cut the original hose. But some sort of adapter would be preferable I think.

Again, I would have just restored the cut hose by putting in a hose barb splice. I can order that hose from a US online retailer for around $8 US. Unfortunately to ship to my Canadian address was something like $40. Alternative was under $10, to ship to a mail box outlet just across the border. All of these approaches are way too expensive/involved, hence the hose barb splice solution, if/when I want to remove the OCC.

I should check again my local dealership parts department. For reference the part no info:

Testing a baffle I made for the ruien oil catch can. I have stainless steel scrubber pads inside to break up the oil/water/fuel.I also cut the dipstick off. It will be on my thingiverse account. I made it with nylon. I will post pics later with some miles on it.

Install the 3/8 coupling barb on the hose (left side pic) and save the other 90 degree factory part in the event you want it put back.

    ^ Yeah that's where I'm at. It's a non-issue I guess.

That would pair nicely with the gold plated catch can you have(y).

Got my brackets from 3DHub's printer guy. He printed multiple, because they bended little bit.
Printed from ABS, so lets see how it handles heat....and well that i dont know until our summer comes and maybe one or more hot days.
I used @danlatu 's files, all thought i could drawn my own at work. At least that one screw version fitted very nicely to my car.

So I pulled the dipstick out of the Can this morning:

    F0E145CC-D010-457F-B4E0-7C5F70AABA5E.jpeg

That’s about 1/16” of accumulation (maybe 1/32”) in 1,200 miles since the install :).

To get to the dipstick, all it entails is removing the air intake and it’s right there, so this is a pretty easy check;).

Then once I get a higher reading on the stock, I’ll remove the splash shield and give it a purge(y).
